Clearly GCU should not only disband its program but the entire school should be shutdown after that loss. Also, USA Volleyball should ban all the GCU players from ever playing volleyball again because they lost. Folks, it was one match. Plenty of road teams have been served off the court at Stan Sheriff and have gone on to have good seasons. GCU is a good team. Let’s not call them frauds. Actually they lost two in a row. And maybe if it’s God’s will it will be three in a row. Not sure what you and the rest of the Lopes point is. Because I’ve watched the broadcast of the home games at GCU, and from the way the two annoucers talk, GCU is the best team ever. So keep it 100. GCU is still a baby. LBSU and UCLA would also beat them. UCI already did.

Including a 0.017 hitting showing from Gianni in night one They don’t have to disband their program but they should change their name to the more accurate “Go Cry University”

GCU definitely not fraudulent. Hawaii probably played up since they knew they were challenging #1. I’m not saying fatigue (mental or physical) was a factor but Hawaii was especially serving crazy as the night progressed. Based on warm ups, I was expecting GCU to play it a little faster, but their passing might have limited things and Hawaii’s blocks were just big and ready. GCU’s setter really hustles and Gianni is always a treat to watch (can’t help but always cheer for him). GCU is a very good team and had bouts where they were giving Hawaii some trouble (oftentimes too little too late). But the crowd last night was electric - I agree, it probably got to some of the Lopes … and Hawaii was pretty aggressive in all aspects. It was nice to see Hawaii play a top tier team.

Being one of the close to eight thousand people watching the match in the Stan, you could see that some of the GCU players were rattled by the crowd. There is an energy you can feel with that many people viking clapping, Che-Hoo ing, and yelling in sync “roof”. It’s a lot. The Lopes could not play its game. Hawai’i scouted them so well, they shut down the middles for the most part and they stopped the lefts and left the oppo to do his thing. Hawai’i’s serving and passing was both efficient and effective. No smoke and mirrors, no hype, just ball. GCU had the best record so they deserved the ranking, but really the AVCA ranking is voted on only by the coaches, and for many, they put little effort in it. Hawai’i is a better team. I think come Monday, we’ll see LBSU 1, Hawaii 2, UCLA 3, GCU 4, UCI 5? You bring up an interesting point about the crowd in Hawaii. I would love to see all of these matches played at a neutral court and see if the result changes. Hawaii simply outplayed, out hussled, and out tussled GCU. I think even on a neutral court Hawaii would win handily. GCU wasn't ready and it showed. But with that said....I still think GCU is deadly good.

2 losses in a row for the lopes this weekend, second one was embarrassing. With that there are no undefeated teams left. I’m curious what their ranking will be this week? I’m going to guess: 1. Hawaii 2. LBSU 3. GCU They will definitely not allow UH to leapfrog LBSU like they easily did so with GCU. Lol According to some, though Hawaii won, they will use the "well they played on the rock" as some sort of justification to somewhat overlook UH as usual. Watch certain folk move the goal posts when evaluating UH. It always happens. Lol

I think whatever happens tomorrow UH moves up to #2 and LBSU to #1. So a showdown at the Pyramid will occur. Hawaii doesn't really do all that well at the Mid. So it will be interesting to see if UH can actually rise to the occasion next week. But until then, let's get this W against UCI!

Dont forget emotional factor. They thought they won vs Irvine in 4. But then they lost in 5. That would be demoralizing
