This has cry for help written all over it, mental health is not giving stable… I’m sorry but I don’t think this is a cry for help. …idk I deal with enough teenagers /young adults who act out in very obviously self destructive ways to see the signs but you’re more than welcome to your opinion

If not the state has been known to require an evaluation as part of an DUI arrest.

I just don’t understand why? You just made a terrible decision to break the law and put people at risk, but luckily were given the opportunity to learn and grow from it. Then you break the law AGAIN? You have every resource available to you at Nebraska, great NIL, unlimited community support, and athletic talent. It’s just not adding up to me. This has cry for help written all over it, mental health is not giving stable… Spot on. She purchased other items, had the bread, get her some help.

NIL.. bad from the start. Too much stress for these YOUNG people, too much going on in their lives. Couldn't we have just stayed with a free college education, team training and competition, fine coaching, room and board, travel, etc.?

Cry for help and looking for attention ... impulse issues ... anti social personality disorder ... kleptomania. She was arrested for a DUI for heavens sake! more than twice the legal limit and resisted arrest! WTF.

The DUI and shoplifting are bad decisions and don't reflect on her judgement/character well, I agree, but for all this buzzword knowledge on mental illness doesn't seem to be much respect for those going through it in your post. you don't know her it's not a good look to brand a stranger with terms like that. and to be blunt, thief works. shoplifter works, drunk driver works. but we just don't know her so why go there in the way you did.

She is in a position of being a role model. She is acting out with little disregard for some reason. Me thinks it’s narcissism.

Cynically, I predict: This episode and the DUI will be blamed on having a drinking problem. Which may or may not be true, but claiming addiction is likely to garner more sympathy and forgiveness than the alternative narrative that she willfully made bad choices. Over the summer she'll spend some time at an in-patient detox facility, and in the fall she will emerge with a very carefully choreographed apology tour - interviews with friendly parties, a podcast or two, public apology on Insta. That's the smart PR move, both for her and Nebraska volleyball. Nice prediction but seeing as how things were handled with the DUI - I doubt Harper or Nebraska will publicly talk about it.

LMAOOO she’s definitely tanking her name and career with the choices she’s making. She’s is not poor AT ALL.. we went to hs together. She drives an Audi and her mother is a private financial advisor. It’s sad because she’s honestly an amazing volleyball player but she clearly hasn’t learned anything since her last run in with trouble 😂 Her NIL income will take a hit after this. Actions have consequences. Bad things tend to come in 3's. I hope not, just saying ...

I'm guessing they will give her a real suspension for at least one regular season match this time (being suspended for a meaningless exhibition doesn't count). Either way, I hope she gets some help.

This is why John Cook should’ve disciplined Harper the first time, could’ve prevented this.
