This thread is like a qualification tournament for the Reading Olympics. So far, no one has advanced to the Finals. #freecarlini

I’m sorry but I don’t think this is a cry for help. Agreed. I grew up with/have friends that grew up very fortunate, some of them are just entitled. Sorry Did they also watch their father die slowly in front of them? You people are such sick fux You don’t know what people are going through. Bunch of idiot judge judies

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I hope Harper receives discipline that is helpful and helps her switch it up because this isn't a good look, back to back.

She is in a position of being a role model. She is acting out with little disregard for some reason. Me thinks it’s narcissism. Not condoning her actions, but athletes, especially at the college level, have no obligation to be a role model,

This is why John Cook should’ve disciplined Harper the first time, could’ve prevented this. Oh yes, the ol’ DUI being a gateway to shoplifting! *eyeroll*

Cynically, I predict: This episode and the DUI will be blamed on having a drinking problem. Which may or may not be true, but claiming addiction is likely to garner more sympathy and forgiveness than the alternative narrative that she willfully made bad choices. Over the summer she'll spend some time at an in-patient detox facility, and in the fall she will emerge with a very carefully choreographed apology tour - interviews with friendly parties, a podcast or two, public apology on Insta. That's the smart PR move, both for her and Nebraska volleyball. WOW WRONG. i can't believe you wrote all this about this girl and the situation and then neglected to leave out that Paul Sunderland will talk about it five hundred twenty five hundred times 😂

It’s Nebraska Athletics….they rolled with Lawrence Phillips until he couldn’t help them win😉. She’ll get all the support she needs if she can do that, then she will quietly move on in a fashion that is posed as mutuality beneficial….

Every major college sports program struggles with this occasionally and you know that. I actually think Nebraska has done some pretty positive things for their players. I don’t think it’s necessary to be a vindictive asswipe .

In the end the individual is responsible for their actions. Hopefully HM realizes this and makes needed behavioral changes. NE Athletic Department will provide support, but in the end it is up to HM.

I really feel bad for her teammates…Her actions affect everyone around her and no doubt everyone on the team has a pit in their stomach about this. Volleyball is an extracaricular team sport and what an individual who’s a member of that team does has ripple effects on everyone around her and the school itself. Hopefully the school and the athletic department handle it appropriately.
My personal opinion no one cares about? First thing to go as a consequence is any extra activities, that means volleyball. Time to focus on school, herself, and maturing into an adult. Sometimes everything that comes with being a student athlete, ESPECIALLY now with NIL money, is just too much for some people. Whatever is going on, might be best to go back to a more simple life without the celebrity of Nebraska volleyball and focus on the things that really matter.

At this point, the primary career path HM has professed is WVB. Don't agree with pulling that away from her at this point. She has clearly damaged her pro WVB prospects in the short term, but she can change and amend that. However, in the end, she is the one that must implement the corrective behavior required.

Wonder if those NIL contracts have cancelation clauses related to illegal or unacceptable behavior. I suspect so, if not they will be added onto new future contracts.
Suspect HM is taking a big financial hit. If the legal consequences and suspension don't get her attention, the financial hit should. An immediate impact indicative of how she is impacting her future career opportunities.
