Does she get a punishment from the ncaa/university you think ? Lauren Cook received a slap on the wrist, no? Might have sat our a few Preseason matches iirc?

This whole idea of anything being swept under the rug is silly. It's not like her name is Lawrence Phillips or anything. Ouch. Completely fair, but ouch.

Does she get a punishment from the ncaa/university you think ? This isn’t (and shouldn’t be) the NCAA’s problem. Punishment is up to John Cook, the Nebraska athletics department and the University of Nebraska.

A lot of student athletes (and regular students) don't have Friday classes. It gives them a jump start on the weekend. My classes were almost always either Tu-Th or M-W-F; I'm not sure I ever had any semesters with no classes on Fridays. But I spent a lot of Thursday nights working on the newspaper (we published Tues and Friday) and then either doing classwork that was due on Friday or playing bridge in the newspaper office after the paper went to the presses. Mine too. But then, on Friday evenings the school invoked in loco parentis and served us unlimited alcohol on campus. However, the class schedules started to change around the early 2000’s at many colleges across the country, particularly dropping Friday classes.

Does she get a punishment from the ncaa/university you think ? Unlikely. Certainly not the NCAA, and any school punishment would be a coach/athletic department issue.

Maybe you should reflect on why you’re annoyed about people expressing the valid opinion that DUIs shouldn’t be swept under the rug. I don’t think this should be swept under the rug, but DUIs, especially first time offenses, are typically not harshly punished. I suspect she gets put on probation, but she’s not going to prison for this. In MN, a first time DUI offense gets you put on unsupervised probation with a 500 dollar fine. I’m not sure how it works in NE though. But i genuinely don’t think she will get any less of a punishment than any other person who gets a first time DUI. My point is, no one should be surprised if it seems like she gets a slap on the wrist… it’s the reality of the justice system. And before my credibility gets attacked, I’ve worked in the courts for 9 years and have seen thousands of DUIs play out. I agree. Here's what a Nebraska defense attorney's website says about how first-time DUI's are handled there.

They ought to be looking into whichever establishments were serving a recognizable underage patron too. Will they, doubt it. I'm sure business Thursday nights is supported largely by fakes.

No one is being let off the hook But I’m sorry but just kinda comes off as annoying statement to me in this instance because you’re not actually talking to Harper Murray, just Volleytalk… Maybe you should reflect on why you’re annoyed about people expressing the valid opinion that DUIs shouldn’t be swept under the rug. Yea ok i think you are just getting off on the scolding aspect of this. That’s the type of person you’re coming off as. Do you I guess.

Volleyball rumor mill amongst players says she flipped off the police officer, hence the disturbing the peace officer charge… That is considered protected speech and will be dismissed if that was it.
