Unlike the idiots talking about their dating life, the thread subject is clearly on-topic. Wait, who said anything about dates?? You sneak, trying to think that was gonna slide

The thing is, you don't get to decide what other people want to talk about. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 If Harper doesn’t want to talk about a personal matter, then none of you ppl get to decide how she responds or what she says. Well stated, Garrison! Are driving under the influence and shop-lifting personal matters? They didn't just affect her, correct? They didn't occur in private, correct?

She answered to the court. The media is allowed to ask, yes. But she’s very allowed to not answer.

Sniffies??? More like Sketchy’s and Methies. Rough…. Lol based on what I saw, that’s prob right but I didn’t stick around to find out As a fellow Sidetrack and Hydrate brat, did you hit Market Days earlier this month?? Not this year, I live on on the West Coast but travel to Chicago for work a few times a year.

I think if we look at it from that perspective there’s even less of a reason to keep dragging this topic on. If her employers, aka Nebraska and her NIL sponsors, are satisfied with her on and off court behavior, that’s all there is to it. The thing is, you don't get to decide what other people want to talk about. Unlike the idiots talking about their dating life, the thread subject is clearly on-topic. But I expect it will go away once the NCAA starts playing matches. It would already have faded away again except for the people who are trying to defend Murray and the ones trying to deflect the conversation. The basic rule of Volleytalk (and other forums) is that if you want a discussion to stop, then DON'T POST TO IT. It will die on its own. Trying to kill it only keeps it going. Or , go into your bathroom at Midnight, light a candle, spin around 3x while chanting Gays, Gays , Gays! We will be instantly summoned to hijack a thread. Thank us later.

She’s a high profile college athlete, who had some legal issues while in college. As it affected her spring playing time & playing with the US National Team, it’s absolutely fair game for media to ask her about it. How’s she chooses to answer is up to her. And yes, how she answers is fair game to comment on and critique.
Can’t do the time, don’t do the crime. Based on her actions & how she responded to a softball question, probably not the last tome something gonna happen with her.
What’s next, begging student sections not to roast her because of her “mental health.” She should be thankful the situation didnt end up in an accident or death.

She answered to the court. The media is allowed to ask, yes. But she’s very allowed to not answer. Not sure what that has to do with my question. Where did I say she "had to answer to the media" ? Who has to answer to the media for anything? Was it a "personal" matter or a "public" matter? The mistakes/offenses were made in public. She attends a public university. The media seems to want to write about what she did in public and the impact on her team(mates). Poster who stated it was "personal" matter is confused as this wasn't about her (private) wedding, birth announcement, family issues, etc. Reporter's choice to ask her a question; her choice to not answer. Being at a press conference voluntarily and choosing not to answer a question (on a topic she knew could be referenced) is what it is . . .

Can’t do the time, don’t do the crime. Okay this is actually cute. I’m going to use this some day but probably not in this context lol She should be thankful the situation didnt end up in an accident or death. You’ll get no argument from me here.

(Hint: if you change the url from x.com to twitter.com when posting a tweet, the tweet will show up as a tweet in the thread instead of just a link)

Follow up: so why was she in the press conference at all? Exactly. Why did Cook select her over other teammates if he was so in tune with her mental state? Perhaps if she's that fragile and "was going to lose it" her time would have been better spent elsewhere other than a media press conference.

Follow up: so why was she in the press conference at all? Probably because if she didn't there would be a new 78 page thread about her on VolleyTalk about how she won't talk to media or do press conferences.
