So, after LSU/Iowa game WBB, there has been some controversy about LSU 'missing' the National Anthem. Some even going so far to call LSU's coach as "woke", that's gotta make anyone who knows WBB LOL.
Anyways, as most people on this forum probably know from sporting events, there is a 'routine' that both teams go through for pre-game warm ups, and depending on the timing, one or both teams could be in the locker room at the playing of the National Anthem.
I'm just a little surprised the governor had the nerve to actually say there should be a policy to threaten to revoke scholarships for student athletes who aren't present for the national anthem.
Now, LSU made a response, which was ... interesting.

The revoking of a scholarship seems a tad extreme for something that could be considered a free speech issue.

If I had to visit there, I would make a point of having all my players needing trainer attention during that time, if that was the game he was trying to play.

Of course this is also a violation of the First Amendment, but I bet it plays well with his voting base.

The Constitution does not grant people the right to be on Facebook or Twitter or VolleyTalk. The Constitution does prohibit the government from unreasonably restricting a person’s right to free speech, which includes standing, sitting, kneeling or attending during the playing of the National Anthem.

Oh we know Mervin, the only free-speech that is allowed in this country is Democrat free-speech. Republicans aren’t allowed to share their free-speech opinion. And that’s why you guys are horrible for democracy and probably the only way we’re going to get rid of stupidity like this is to let you die off gracefully. Hopefully the next generation understands but free speech means.

It’s really sad what a contradictory piece of %*$# Democrats have become. They claim to love democracy while screwing democracy. They claim to love free-speech while screwing free-speech. They are the Nazi party.
