Love seeing another Holiday dragging opportunity. That's the kind of free speech I'm all about.

What principles do you stick up for? Certainly not for free speech in Russia. On the plus side, at least you're not resorting to the neo-nazi propaganda that is a staple on Russian state TV. Free speech in Putin's Russia is the right to shout "Aaaagh!" as you "fall" from an upper-story window. In Russia, they arrest you for holding a blank sheet of paper.

Of course this is also a violation of the First Amendment, but I bet it plays well with his voting base. There are theoretically ways to get around the First Amendment if a team or coach considers someone to be disruptive, but certainly having a state law on this would seem to be a violation.

Who are you calling a Democrat? I can't stand Democrats. You applauded the Governor's plans to take the free speech rights away from athletes at a public university. You got called out rightly for being a hypocrite. And you just did the exact same thing to me by correcting my free speech. Correct? Not you actually thinking that someone disagreeing with you is somehow going against your right to free speech. You're allowed to say whatever dumb %*$# you want (and you do). Me calling you an imbecile wouldn't be violating your free speech. Me asking/begging that you delete your account isn't violating your free speech. Take a civics class.

So, after LSU/Iowa game WBB, there has been some controversy about LSU 'missing' the National Anthem. Some even going so far to call LSU's coach as "woke", that's gotta make anyone who knows WBB LOL. Anyways, as most people on this forum probably know from sporting events, there is a 'routine' that both teams go through for pre-game warm ups, and depending on the timing, one or both teams could be in the locker room at the playing of the National Anthem. I'm just a little surprised the governor had the nerve to actually say there should be a policy to threaten to revoke scholarships for student athletes who aren't present for the national anthem. Now, LSU made a response, which was ... interesting. Landry is complete idiot for putting this out there. This has/had nothing to do with free speech - it has to do with preparation for and playing the basketball game is at the top of the mind of the coach. The backlash on this is so stupid. 3 of the 4 teams at that regional final weren't out for the National Anthem - and it had nothing to do with some kind of protest. Brian Kelly was asked about this situation - he said something to the effect that in his 30+ year career there has only been a handful of times he has been out during the anthem. If the LSU administration says he and his team has to be out for the anthem going forward, then he will be out there.
