I think Weiter understands what Hawaii is looking for. Someone that is a role player and can contribute in whatever way Charlie needs from him, not someone looking to be "the guy". The shade henney, I liveeee....

Getting Weiter (once confirmed) is a huge upgrade over the weed who left. Kid has height, passes well, and serves the ball in well(not into the net). And isn't a social media attention kween

Warriors are trying to win a title next year not just 2-3 years from now. To do that you need, reliable pins that are able to come in off the bench and spark the team. Ucla had Rama, Uci-Tangutar, Long Beach had Harlan etc. Granted Tread , Kurt and Louis have to take the next step next season, but I am confident they will. I am also hearing great things about Adrien’s leadership potential, even at just 18. He’s got the scary Louis like serve but with more consistency. Honestly Roure has the potential to be the next Henno in the NCAA not because he's also French, but because of his all-around game. I hope so, some international games like the gold medal match vs Iran he was making mistake after mistake and the French coach was getting pissed. Hopefully he becomes as consistent as Henno

Henno has the advantage of being a 6-8 lefty playing OH. Not too many of those around so he was hard to block. Spyros was on his way to a POY award prior to his injury so I'll take a Spyros clone gladly. I just realized that the last 3 POY were international kids. Nikolov, Thelle and now Henno. Next year Sakanoko? 👍

He's a mini Gasman. Thick frame, physical, aggressive and intense...just what the doctor ordered. I hope we land Weiter, that guy has skills...especially his passing and defense. Of course his hitting and serving is not too shabby either. Needs to reduce his service errors but other than that he's the full package. The dilemma is that Weiter is a one year guy. He would be a great guy to have on the team….no doubt…..but if Charlie is building a championship run for the future, he needs to have his young guns in there for experience. Would Charlie wants to try and win a title next season and make up the team with transfers or build this team from youth so we can have a chance for back to back titles again in a couple of years. If next years starting lineup is composed of transfers, then the younger players will not get the experience needed and we will fall one year behind in our quest to win championships. A team full of transfers is not going to be a title contender. It’s just hard to get a bunch of guys here who haven’t played together to all if a sudden gel. Some will be here just for one year and then gone. I say we take our chances with the youngsters and build from there….just like LBSU when they got DeFalco, Ensign and Tuaniga. They all started as Freshmen and then won back to back titles in 2018 and 2019. Hawaii’s trio compared to the LBSU trio of DeFalco, Tuaniga and Ensing would be Roure, Kearney and Titriyski. Tread would have been part of that group but he came in one year early so he has a year up on Tuaniga. The team needs some kind of leadership, an upperclassmen to help guide them, preferably a vocal leader as this past season with the seniors in the squad and no one to step up as the vocal leader.

Remember the last time Hawaii missed out in making the NCAA's....that team busted their asses and got to the final in 2019 and busted through in 2021. I think next season those boys including the young guns come in hungry and determined. Imma bet on it.

The Leader of next year's team needs to be either Tread, or Luis Sakanoko. Someone who is always on the floor. So that would be Tread or Luis. It cannot be someone who is only on the floor half the time.

He’ll need to impress to get playing time otherwise people will think he’s up there because of nepotism. In highschool he is good but not impressive so lots of work to do for him.

Does the team ever participate in pre season tournaments? Aside from their usual Japan training trip, i think this team will benefit from participating in some preseason reps.
