Sorry if this is answered earlier but is Kai Rodriguez no longer at UH? He and a bunch of other guys from the team left midway through the season. koavball mentioned that he was gonna transfer, but I think it was also mentioned that he was gonna focus on beach volleyball instead. |

The only other option I can think of is a medical redshirt but he played 20 matches this season out of 26 and finished the season so that does not make sense, I think the rule is play in 30 or 33% or less of the season matches in the first part of the season and not comeback and play the end of the season. |

The choice of wording can definitely paint a different picture. They didn't just left at their own accord but was cut out from the team midway through the season. Which was pretty shocking, to me atleast. So I can't really blame if these guys felt blind sided and lost, and now seeking different opportunities. |

I wonder what they did to get them cut? I'm still puzzled by this as well. Especially mid-season. It just seemed weird that without any definitive signing of the incoming players, why would you cut those players. Especially those with the team 2+ yrs in Ottmar and Buchanan. In any case... best wishes and much success to all players who stayed and left. You need to find your own happiness. |

It just seemed weird that without any definitive signing of the incoming players, why would you cut those players. Especially those with the team 2+ yrs in Ottmar and Buchanan. In any case... best wishes and much success to all players who stayed and left. You need to find your own happiness. As simple as getting recruited over. It happens in all college sports. Goodluck to the kids that feel like they got slighted (Thiim), etc, despite that not being true and those that bowed in a classy manner. |

Probably need more middles. That cuban middle might be worth a look @charliewade

After a season or two on the senior team he will be leased to a pro team. |

Not really a reliable source but I recall there being a post on the Facebook group (Hawaii MVB fans) that there’s a guy who’s daughter had classes with Kai and that Kai was telling her he’d be back on the team next year. Something to that effect. With the other 3 guys being confirmed/rumoured gone I would like to see Kai get a second chance. He was probably the best prospect of the 4 |
