So, Hawai'i fans, I am hoping to change jobs to have a less toxic work environment and more normal hours before next volleyball season, but I have truly enjoyed hanging out with you for my manyith Wahine season and first Warriors season this season! I will continue the ESPN+ yearly subscription to enjoy both as much as I can going forward! It's always so good having you in the threads taking in Hawaii volleyball. See you during the women's season! |

Charlie Wade has to rebuild from scratch. That includes every position. No one on this current team should be starting next year, period, that includes Tread Rosenthal.

Right now I would like Kurt Nusterer to stay, and Tread Rosenthal enter the transfer portal. Right now, I would like 808empath to stay, and washing an enter the transfer portal. |

This has to be the worst coaching job Charlie Wade and his coaching staff have done in years.
Please, people quit calling Tread Rosenthal a prized recruit. He is NO Prize Recruit, the way he has played this year. He was so erratic in his decision making, and setting location, it is not funny. The worst Setter a Hawaii team had in a long time.

Charlie Wade should never have promised the Starting Setter position to Tread Rosenthal. Charlie Wade should have made Tread Rosenthal earn it. In other words, come in, try to beat out Shewie for that Starting position. Cause in all the matches Hawaii has played against UCI, Shewie has outplayed Tread Rosenthal, and it is not even close. You really are restarted. Sheward entered the May portal and was left with one setter on the roster (Buchanan). They grabbed Kauling to have two setters on the roster. It was at a later day (after u19 World Championships that Rosenthal decided to forgo his Senior year in High School). In an interview I recall Tread saying Charlie and him talked about him working to graduate early... I understood that to be before May but can't remember details. I would be surprised if these decisions weren't made well before that. Coaches aren't supposed to talk to players before they enter the transfer portal but Kauling probably was a done deal earlier. |

UCI's coaching staff who tried everything in the playbook throughout the season to see what sticks really what pulled them through and made the difference against Hawaii. Hopefully Charlie Wade will learn from them.

In any case Wade should have given Kauling a chance instead of sticking with his prized recruit. Tread needed to earn his playing time not be handed the reigns through thick and thin. Especially when you have an all american in Kauling sitting on the bench. He should have but he didn't. I agree that Tread needed to bench more often to see what Kauling could do out there but tbh how much of an impact would he have made? Most of our losses this season have been our inability to serve inbounds in crucial moments, passing and having that elite pin hitter in crunch time. |
