Coach Milan always said to start your "best" 7. So, Tread not earning his starting role doesn't make sense to me..

I was thinking all season that I can't see how Milan would be okay with starting someone who isn't up to par when there is a clear better option. Unless otherwise stated, nobody here outside of probably koavball , was privy to anything going on in the practice gym and the dynamics of the team. I understand the want to speculate, feel sorry for someone or make some logical deductions but it's such a hard topic to present a case for and defend without some insider information.

Whoa that was &$@*#%. frustrating match, I had to leave after that $&@#^% up 2nd set. We sucked bad behind the service line when it mattered most and we just couldn’t buy a timely block down the stretch. Congrats to the Eaters, they ate our lunch! I hope they sink The Beach in the final and I hope Kurt and Keoni return next season. Well at least I got my knee bends in from all the sitting and standing at all the match points.

Left at the start of Set 2 and checked stats after my other event ended and very disappointed in seeing Hawaii lost. But that's it, they lost.
Looking back, yeah, Tread had many questionable setting choices, setting locations, etc, but he is still a 17 yr old. I do have to agree that I'm also disappointed Kauling didn't get more attempts to set, especially with the cupcake schedule Hawaii had in the pre season. I'm sure Wade was trying to build that connection and chemistry, but still Kauling should have been given more opportunities.
We all asked for someone to step up to be the leader, but I felt that no one was ready and no one wanted to be that leader. I don't say that negatively, but looking at Chaz, he was never Hawaiis OH1. Always behind Cowell and then Spyros. He shined when he wasn't the focus. This lack of leadership reminds me of a few Vice Principals I've worked with throughout the years and when asked "are you going to be a Principal?". Some said, nope, they enjoyed just being the VP. Nothing wrong, not everyone is built for that leadership role.
Hawaii will definitely take some lumps next year, even with that superb class coming in. I need to remind myself that they still haven't played one second of DI Volleyball and as a cohesive group yet. It'll take time.
Mahalo seniors.

I am happy for Shewie, he really stuck it to Charlie Wade. Shewie proved he is the better Setter, then anything Hawaii has. Charlie Wade made the worst decision he has ever made, NOT turning the setter position over to Shewie at the end of last season. Thank the good Lawd you not the head coach.

This has to be the worst coaching job Charlie Wade and his coaching staff have done in years. Please, people quit calling Tread Rosenthal a prized recruit. He is NO Prize Recruit, the way he has played this year. He was so erratic in his decision making, and setting location, it is not funny. The worst Setter a Hawaii team had in a long time. oh lord, wahinefan I feel like you just trolling. Tread beat out a 4th year AND 5th year/All-American. Also, the first true frosh setter to start 90% of matches for the Warriors in more than 20 years Ok but low key I feel like Charlie was just pushing to make this stat happen. It can be a little Column A and a little Column B. I truly hope Kauling enjoyed the environment at Hawaii because it was for sure a waste of his senior year and rarely do I agree with the things that rainonyourparade says. I also don’t know how I feel about not subbing Todd in towards the end of the 3rd when things were getting away in a hurry. To me, it’s like the subbing is not reciprocal. Wade will be quick to bring in a younger player for a returner but not vice versa under the same parameters and that’s just an odd coaching choice imo unless his true focus was on the future of the program. I haven’t watched and of the coach sit down talks but if that was the case then let that be known. I know he doesn’t owe anything to fans but it’s a bit of a head scratcher and almost proves that once Spyros was out he had no faith in the rest of the season. Either way, I really enjoyed watching the team this season, especially all of the new starters that stepped up. I’m excited to see what the future brings for Hawaii! Also hoping UCI beats Long Beach and for a UCI vs UCLA final!

They deserved so much more after being the winningest class with 2 national titles added to their names, like come on. I get it, you want to build on something for next year, but what about the guys that laid the groundwork? You just gonna throw them under the bus. This is probably the most annoying thing about Coach. I'm angry for the guys. 🤬🤬🤬 But dwelling on the past isn't gonna help no one. But Coach Wade is an idiot and i feel bad for this years seniors. 😭
