I’m picking UCLA, Irvine, OSU, and Long Beach for the semis…
… and an all Big West final, with Sheward picking up his third championship!
But all my semis picks are hot / peaking at the right time. What a fun weekend of volleyball.

I’d really like to see FVS and Belmont Abbey put on good showings, but UCLA and LBSU are just so so good. I’m super-excited for the 3/6 and 4/5 match-ups and they are toss-ups in my mind.

They said UCI has a great resume. Record of 19-10? 10 losses! Oh well... Tell me you don't understand resumes without telling me you don't understand resumes...

If UCI plans to get past Penn State, D'Arcy is gonna have to do a hell of a lot more offensively than he did during the Big West tournament. He's been too hot and cold as of late.

Hey all, will my episode record tomorrow early morning. If there are any questions (and if there is time remaining to record) I could ask the coaches any questions you may have. Or course, this would happen after the 3 items I have to discuss tomorrow. You can DM me if you want to remain anonymous or you can throw them on here. http://instagram.com/p/C6CaECXSHGP Probably too late, but what are the coaches opinions on the new NCAA transfer rules where players don't need to sit out a year before they can play. Do they think we may see some men's players doing transfers in the fall when they get to school and see how the new transfers or recruits are being treated over the returning players. If immediate transfers were allowed, do they think Kevin Kauling would have left Hawaii when it was announced that Tread was coming in a year early?

We went REALLY long today. It will be on the "NCAA Predictions" Episode

disclaimer : not a precise statistical analysis, but rather an approximation based on Massey odds, since way too many permutations for me to make precise calcs. no offense to FVS & Belmont Abbey, just essentially little statistical chances of those two winning.....but there is a chance!! Belmont Abbeys has played Pepperdine & Charleston (2-3), and FVS played UCLA & USC (both 0-3) final pre NCAA Massey rannkings, Massey still like always has some 'nits' in teh data, as usual masseyratings.com/cmvol/ncaa-d1/ratingsOdds to win the NC: UCLA 44% Beach 20% GCU 15% Irvine 11% Penn State 6% Ohio State 4% Bel Abbey <1% FVS <1% per Massey, the seeding was exactly correct. the toughest decision actually GCU and Long Beach for #2.

But D'Arcy and Flexen sure do need to show up!

Honestly their offense is a lot more diverse than people give them credit for. No doubt Henno gets most of the swings and kills.
Henno 520 kills on an insane 1042 attempts in 109 sets played Grigoriev 240 Kills Campbell 181 kills D'Arcy 181 Kills in only 69 sets played (he was basically a blocking sub early in the season) Flexen 173 kills in only 61 sets played (he was injured for a good chunk)

He gets everyone involved. He's also great at getting the middles going at any opportunity. Flexen's problem is his passing doesn't keep him consistently on the court. D'Arcy has had great moments. That first match against Long Beach, the matches against Lewis and Grand Canyon are prime examples. But during the BWT, he was 7-6-25 across 6 sets. In the last 2 weeks of conference play, he was inconsistent. They need more from him to make it deep in the tournament.

I'm rooting for Fort Valley State. If they win their first match, I might find out where they are.
