people getting your posts wrong is a pretty common occurrence. Not my fault candle missed my first entry in this thread. Not their “fault” either. It happened, it was a mistake, I moved on. you never move on

Ugh, I hope it’s not Tim Scott. I don’t think he brings anything to the ticket. Why does it matter to you? You said you aren't voting for Trump anyway. While true, I still prefer to see the Republicans put their best foot forward (it is the way I lean). I don’t think either Trump or Scott does that.

Looks like the betting markets have dropped Noem's odds for being the VP nominee. Doug Burgam has been getting some traction. The top tier favorites for VP right now are: 1. Tim Scott 2. Tulsi Gabbard 3. E. Stefanik 4. J.D. Vance Next tier is pretty long: Noem, Rubio, Haley, Sanders, Romasway, Pompeo, Carson, Burgam. I couldn't imagine Tulsi Gabbard was actually in play, but I looked at an oddsmaker's page and yep, there she is at +700. What does Tulsi add to the ticket? Kristi Noem appears to have fallen completely off the list. Oops, admitting to murdering a petting zoo (1 pup, 1 goat, 3 horses, and counting) is not a great Vice Presidential resume builder. Who knew!

Note: The Vanity Fair piece was the first article to come up, so it's the one I linked to because I'm lazy. It's snarky, but it is true Noem stated she put down 3 family horses recently.

This is an interesting thought, that the story isn't even true, but that she made it up because she thought it would appeal to some demographic she is pursuing. I think her premise was that she's able to "make the tough decisions". She should have made the smart decision and not share that story. Yes, it's tough for a female politician to prove she is not afraid to get her hands dirty. Ronald Reagan on horseback, George W. Bush chopping wood, Barak Obama shooting hoops... Kamala Harris likes to raise her voice to sound authoritative, and then laugh at inappropriate times when it makes people uncomfortable. It's tough for a female politician. Biden's dog likes to chew on Secret Service Agents without repercussion... I think this was Noem trying to say she's tough, not like Biden - that she's a real rancher and is equal for unpleasant and unpopular tasks like sharing a limo with Trump, or something like that. Despite Jsquare's insistance, she did not shoot a puppy for fun or sport or whatever. And despite her intentions of appearing tough, it just made her seem out of touch with mainstream America. Shoot a horse? Ok, we all watched Kevin Costner do that in the premier of Yellowstone. Shooting a bird dog who you didn't train well? But then if shooting a dog eliminates you from being Vice President, how anyone could support these two clowns to run for president is beyond me.

Who knew! Gabbard would be interesting, but I just don't see it happening. Traditional conservates would hate it - they think she is liberal. MAGA would support her. The key, she would have a 'No Labels' vibe which could be very valuable with independents who are sick of the extremes on both sides (not saying she is a moderate, left, or right - but she was very recently a Democrat and not in the moderate group.) This could be very appealing and helpful to Trump.

No one with an ounce of feelings shoots a 14 month old puppy just for the sport of it and then write about it. Your last sentence makes zero sense.

He would be the adult in the room for any of this crap from Trump. This is probably a requirement to bring in any previous 'Never Trumpers'. For me - I am not voting for Trump. But having Scott as the VP would improve my tolerance for a Trump win. As in - I would rather Trump win than Biden. Make Kari Lake the VP nominee - then I might vote for Biden and I certainly wouldn't want Trump to win.

You must not know Tim Scott if you think he won't simply be a complete lackey for Trump. And it's been clear for a while that you would prefer Trump to win, with or without Biden.
