The Newcomer of the Year is a bit of a surprise to me! Not to me! He's been very good for Loyola-Chicago and his numbers reflect it. It wasn't a big year for freshmen. I kept looking at the Top 5/Top 10 to see who was actually starting any, and there weren't a lot.

I guess I just didn't hear his name mentioned a lot and the games that I have seen him play, he didn't really stand out to me. But still congratulations to him!

Bianchi not being a first/second teamed is absolutely ridiculous. How do you not even have an oppo on the 2nd team?

Henno will get POY, can't imagine any other choice
COY, I'm guessing it'll go to Wurle this year, not one of those years with a clear cut choice

It’s an individual accolade, not a team one… Don’t get me wrong, I think Bianchi is impressive, but from what I’ve seen, AVCA tends to consider team performance when it comes time for individual awards. People made the same argument when Jasper didn’t get 1st team, but that’s bc Pepperdine sucked that year

I know Rosenthal and Todd are HMs.

How do some setters who don’t average top 20 assists per set in the nation make a list? Wouldn't that be THE criteria for a setter? It just seems like such a politics game, just because they play at a big school they get it. Someone make it make sense for me
