Oh wowww... he really did it. Speraw has forgone a back-up for Anderson in favor of a 4th MB. TJ/Aaron/Tommy might be taking swings from the right!! EDIT: Ensing is the 13th alternate. Hmmm. Ugh, why do we have/need a 4th middle? Are there really not any viable backup opposites? If not then wouldn't a backup libero be critical if Shoji gets hurt? |

Just a couple of corrections: 1) Smith is nearly two years (22 months) older than Holt. 2) Holt is one month older than Anderson. |

Japan had a friendly with the Netherlands. I hope to see Masato Kai start most/all of the week 1 matches, he has a lot of potential and can take an outside spot for Paris

I'm not seeing potential heirs in the outside nor the opposite positions in the NCAA. Hopefully the U19 squad can reveal some names.
For this VNL, I expect Japan to solidify itself in the top 5 team in the world. Italy and Poland are the main favorites, however team USA has better team chemistry second to Japan.
