Clearly something is going on with Murray’s life outside of volleyball. You don’t get a DUI and shoplift unless something personal is happening.
I don’t know if it is a cry for help, but I hope she gets whatever she needs to make better life decisions. This is bigger than just volleyball and I hope the Nebraska program is able to help her get back on the right path.

DUI, resisting arrest, fake ID and shoplifting, all in one month. It's hard to believe, but Harper Murray appears to be more felonious than Coach Cook's daughter.

After joining volleytalk right after the news broke last month. I don't need to explain. i've been around for a long time. my mother died at the hands of a college student DUI, so i'm not going to sit down and have this happen to anyone again. now get off my back. And the girl watched her father die slowly when she was young. You have NO IDEA what her mental state is like. Or maybe we should just tell you to get over your parents death and not have any aspect of it possibly affect you down the road? |

The intent of this thread is not what it should be however, it is very concerning that she has had so many issues in the past month with the only consequence being missing a spring match in terms of volleyball. She needs to get it together fast and Cook needs to get her together!

One thing is for sure: HM has undeniable star power. Three UCLA basketball players got arrested for shoplifting something way more expensive, in a different country AND the president got involved—yet she all by herself got a whole lot more people upset. I mean, I googled this and the first things that popped up were from NPR, ESPN and Reuters. So there are definitely NOT more people who care about Murray. |

One thing is for sure: HM has undeniable star power. Three UCLA basketball players got arrested for shoplifting something way more expensive, in a different country AND the president got involved—yet she all by herself got a whole lot more people upset. I mean, I googled this and the first things that popped up were from NPR, ESPN and Reuters. So there are definitely NOT more people who care about Murray. I was going to say this was like month long news with the president getting involved and the entire situation becoming political. I guarantee more people know about what the UCLA basketball players did then even know who HM is. |

She's a bad person and a good volleyball player. So what? Nebraska volleyball is there to win matches, not to make these athletes into nuns. That's what parents and therapists are for. No one cares if she stole a couple of rings. Not like most people have never stolen anything in their lives. Leave it alone and just let her play volleyball. No one is really bothered if she DUI'd or stole some meaningless junk from a store. I think most of us just want to see her match up against Texas again.
