I finally watched the match and was entertained - I like how anytime Micah, TJ, Nishida, Ishikawa was shown on the screen the audience erupted in cheers 😂 felt like they were members of One Direction or something I watched live and it was so entertaining. The players are just having fun also. Larry, one of the Japanese MBs have this flex thing he does when he scores, and when the USA scores specially on Larry or his error, TJ will do the flex too  Micah and TJ were so energetic on the sidelines leading the USA chants  Also sidenote, Matt and Micah both took off their jerseys after the match and gave it away to fans. A couple of USA players gave away signed shoes and shirts at the Fan Zone too. Felt like an exhibition match / fans day tbh lol I have to say, despite the rough start times for US viewers, seeing the way you and the fans packed those seats for every match was something special. Not a single game was dull or lacking enthusiasm from the crowd. I wish the finals were being held there. While the Polish crowd is fun, they're not all that excited unless it's their team. I like seeing the way the fans there were excited/cheered for every team that played. It makes the matches a lot more thrilling to watch.

Mt apologies, I hadn't heard that. In that case... I get the financial appeal of playing in Italy, but he's not going to develop there. It's a shame. I'm sure he'll make some USA rosters as a backup at the beginning of next quad but if he continues thus route, he won't be a factor come LA2028. all good and I agree 100%! Gabi not making the right club choices is just going to hinder his development.

well, USA learned exactly nothing during this VNL, on a scale from 1-10, maybe about a 2 overall. if it was golf, USA maybe just added 2-3 strokes on their handicap for all this, but then it's not golf the expression, "you either win or you learn" would not be consistent with your opinion but it is an overused expression. No one will probably know what was gained during the VNL until the Olympics. I feel like I learned a lot from watching the team play and watching the other teams play. I don't think the USA tanked anything but often the most useful scouting is when the team you are scouting is playing their best. In that sense USA has an advantage over Canada or Japan for example. USA also might have learned things that didn't work or the limits to how well certain things will work. Those are important lessons and very useful to teams that are mature enough to implement.

Maybe this isn't the case.
