Trying to think of the most chaotic pool…
Probably Poland, Italy/USA, Brazil, Germany. For USA, Japan is the best matchup. Maybe hope for Canada/Egypt as well. But really the field looks tough in Paris. Exciting for fans

I'm not sure who I would want to get if im USA. Japan from pot 1 or tbh maybe even France IF you get them the first match in front of their home crowd, defending champions, pressure to perform, maybe it could be a repeat of the Tokyo RR game. I'm not sure who I want from pot 2, Canada maybe? If Canada plays the way they did in Ottawa against them though... and we know what happened with Argentina in Tokyo, hmm Brazil? Pot 3 I'm wanting Egypt, but I'm not overly concerned with that pot.

Exciting for fans i’d think usa wants to get argentina, not canada, esp after how canada has looked in VNL. but olympics is a whole diff ball game, so who knows lol

I just got ptsd from Tokyo for Argentina LOL. Canada I do wonder if them playing their main guys like every match in VNL might affect their performance. But they do have a short break to recover

The current pool is really chaotic enough, no team is certain to beat another team, maybe besides Poland. I myself really don't know what to expect tbh.

I feel like the men teams have more parity and competitiveness to it than women’s. There are just so many teams who can beat another and it doesn’t matter which groupings they were drown from. And that’s always so fun to watch!

I am still a bit shocked that Japen ended up in #1 grouping! They have earned it though.

And that’s always so fun to watch! I did kinda like the amount of games (as a fan) from the previous format. There’s less margin for error, teams have to be ready and don’t have as many matches to play themselves into contention. Plus, there’s a possibility that a team only wins 1 pool game and makes a Cinderella run to the medal rounds lol.

I thought this was important considering the number of injured athletes we've seen due to a grueling schedule, but now some may not even get the proper sleep and recovery during the Olympic games. linkOlympic organizing committee cut air-conditioned rooms at Paris 2024 and are using a system of cooling pipes underneath the floors in a move to cut carbon emissions. The rooms are equipped with standing fans, the same cardboard beds, and mattresses made of recycled fish nets. USA, Australia, Italy, Canada, and Great Britain are among the countries who will be bringing their own portable AC units for their respective athletes. Germany is only providing ACs for certain sports. President of Greek Olympic committee said, "We will bring them. And we will take them back to Greece." Other countries will look to obtain AC units in France instead of flying them over. President of Uganda Olympic committee said, "We don't have deep pockets," and may not be able to fund AC units for their athletes. A bedroom inside the Paris 2024 Olympic village.

I don’t know where to put this, but Japan already released their Olympic roster. expected names. Their Tokyo roster had 2 current University students (Ran Takahashi, Tatsu Otsuka), and for Paris, they are bringing Masato Kai who is in his 3rd year of college.

Otsuka made it!! Tomita is a great alternate choice. I'm so happy he made it! Coach Blain confirmed that Kai is 3rd OH and the last OH slot was between Otsuka and Tomita. Hardest pick was also between Yamamoto and Ogawa. I remember it was shared here how the USA Team was informed of their selection. The Japan team is the opposite. It was announced in front of everyone... because that's what Yuki Ishikawa told Coach to do when he consulted him The details of the selection are here: news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/1bee7669e95c61c20254461e51c26608f592567c
