I see all the Reggers stans are here early and rooting. It must be our collective power!!! π€£ I came in as a Reggers stan but might be leaving as a Rotty superfan. That guy is the real deal! He can pass and has all the shots. I might need to start following his pro career. The betrayal! But whatever- cannot blame you. He is very good plus he is cute too.

Is it correct that Ukraine is guaranteed a spot in next year VNL regardless of the outcome of the final match? They will get in through the WR points.

Just want to reiterate that I hate that China is in this tournament because they're hosting and had a much easier draw to the finals than the higher-ranked teams.
They could potentially get into VNL (if they win) after finishing 5th in their own continental qualifer and still being currently ranked lower than the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams from this tournament.
I say this as a fan of this Chinese squad π

ftfy. LMAO I love their libero too!! Their backup opp Wang Jingyi who I think deserves to be the starter looks pretty good. A lefty with the power shots and angle. Jiang Chuan just doesn't have it anymore.

Surprised they haven't managed to find more depth to replace him, though I'm sure if Heynan sticks around, he will make the change.

CVA probably keeps him around being the only captain/veteran on the team. Still doesn't mean he should get the automatic start.

They could potentially get into VNL (if they win) after finishing 5th in their own continental qualifer and still being currently ranked lower than the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams from this tournament. I say this as a fan of this Chinese squad π i mean part of the reason they are ranked so low is due to the FIVB's point system. They were in VNL last year, beat 2 teams and went to 5 with Japan. They were getting punished for being in VNL due to accruing losses that dropped them in world ranking, despite being in the best tournament. A team that begins VNL ranked 14th and goes 2-10 drops to the 20s in the rankings simply because they are accruing losses while teams like Chechia, Portugal, and Finland get rewarded by playing worse teams and winning. So China tanked a bit at the end of last VNL so that they would get to play worse comp this year and they are showing that they are easily a top 20 team in the world and are walking through Challenger's Cup. TLDR: Don't blame China for gaming the system, blame the system for punishing the bottom VNL teams

Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering why China was ranked so low - esp for a vnl team last year. I really like China and I hope they do well β¦ in fact, I hope they win the Challenger Cup β¦ cakewalk or not β¦

Congratulations to China. They defeated Belgium 3-1 and will be in next year's VML.
They prepared really well for Belgium's pins trio and Reggers couldn't do it all. China had 16 blocks!
Rotty took a serve to the head early in set 4 and then Perrin fell apart... brutal.
