Is there perhaps a children-of-faculty-go-for-free-or-at-a-cut-rate policy at Nebraska? Yes, I was wondering about that; many universities have such tuition programs for faculty and staff. Would it count as an athletic scholarship anyway?

Wow...the Star-Bulletin is now getting it's news from Volleytalk!!
Of course they did, supposedly, confirm the Gill/Cook story thru a "VERY reliable source."
But then they quote Volleytalk, but don't put up a link to Volleytalk. Kinda Stinky!
Oh, Cindy....you said Too...when you meant TWO.

I think Coach Cook should redshirt Lauren for chemistry reasons. What do you think is going thru Sydney Anderson's mind right now.

If this happens to be true Anderson will not be beat out of her position by anyone.

Thanks for the help Tomclen. been at the arena for nearly six hours with men's volleyball practices and too and two was 2 2 much.
as for my getting info off VT, all I said was I rarely go on but that the posts on Cook and Gil made for interesting reading. which was a few days ago when there was only a page or 2. And then I was asked by someone about it today. Said I had read what was being said on VT, including the drama over Gil's BF .. which started out as her husband. Then I got confirmation from someone I really trust to know what's going on. which is when I posted it about five hours ago. I'll go back and put a link up to VT. but figured everyone who drops in on my blog knows how to go to VT.

Neither Lauren nor her parents were talking, but it appears the decision to leave UCLA, where classes resumed on Monday, centered on academics, specifically her pursuit of a certain major.
...What major did she want to pursue?

Here are my questions. 1. Does Andy have to let her out of her scholorship before the deadline so she doesnt have to sit out a year(Rose did the same to Yanz)? 2. How long do you think that Cook knew about his daughter transfering? I ask this because he said after the season that NU needed to switch to a different system and now she is coming in as the NFOY as a setter and a scholorship is open for her with the departure of Yanz. I had a feeling this would happen when Nebraska signed two players this year but only had one player graduating (Kori Cooper). The scholarship count made it apparent someone was not coming back (or was going to be asked to be a walk-on). Good luck to her. Sounds like another Cook "Minching" to me. Huskerhawk, do you have anything concrete to offer, or are you just being an idiot? LOL. I'm just being an idiot. Okay, maybe not.

Volley Talk is a legitimate news source, dammit! It's where I learned Big Foot was engaged to Elvis.

Her profile on UCLA's page says her major is undecided, but she aspires to be a wedding or event planner. This was just posted by the Lincoln Journal-Star.......guess it's true!!!! WELCOME HOME LAUREN!!Pius X grad Lauren Cook leaving UCLA

Actually, I find it very, very impressive that you're covering this at all. To me it shows the quality of your work and your paper....not to mention what a big deal volleyball is in Hawaii. I'd be thrilled if the paper(s) in Seattle would ever provide such coverage...even in their blogs.
