Couger: Envision with me if you will, a corn field located, oh I don't know somewhere in Hoosier land. You are in a plane flying over and somewhere there in the middle of the corn field, you spot an object. Low and behold it's a person, me! There I am standing in the middle of the corn field and I'm waving something in my right hand. It's a white flag and although you can't hear me, I am also yelling "UNCLE." I think I used to live not TOO far from that corn field. Nice flag BTW.

Cougar-Are you on the admissions board? Like I said before, the int'l. student population is very big, I know, I graduated from there last year. At every major speaking function the president (Bateman) talked about how they pride themselves in their large int'l student enrollment. I know, I heard it many times. RY: Listen, you need to lighten up big time, and this is coming from a fellow Cougar fan. Your tone is horrible, it really is, and we all know it. I can get into some lively banter, and occasionally have insulted potato boy (aka IB), but that's just a tongue in cheek term of endearment for him that I came up with, it was truly nothing personal. We just delved into a subject and went back and forth. With you, you need to win all your "battles" here. Just slow down. You're not right on all counts. Judging by how you've been posting, you're putting your hand into alot of arenas, and are voicing your opinion on a wide variety of issues -- which is fine, but realize that you are not always going to be right. I've tried to be judicious in what I write, and what I post, and try to keep it to things I am knowledgable about. Perhaps if anyone else had questioned my international students at BYU blurb, I would've just put up a regular old post, but I feel a need to be a little more in depth with you. To answer the question, I am not on the admissions board, but what I have stated is fact. If you look at how I've posted, I don't just state my feelings and opinons on things, I share a lot of facts also. The FP wants to keep international students in their own countries to keep the growth of the LDS church strong in their home countries. That is why there is a cap. Do your research and you'll find that. But you'll quickly realize as you go about it that people will deny it. All you have to do is look at the numbers of international students at BYU over the course of the past decade. It has remained about the same -- very low. So president bateman says the international student population is large? Compared to what? That's like saying a cake with 28 grams of fat is considered reduced fat now because it has 27 grams of fat. I am more recent to Provo than you are and there are not that many international students that attend BYU. A couple of variables probably fooled you in thinking that, which is common. NO. 1 BYU has a large student population to start with, over well over 30,000. When I say there are just over 2,000 internationals at BYU that's almost as many as attend BYU-H. No. 2 When BYU is so predominantly white, it's alot easier to spot out international or foreign students. RY don't believe everything you hear. I KNOW differently and I've stated it -- it's fact. BYU caps the number of international students who attend.

Next time I fly in I'll look for ya.

Yeah Cougar, you said a lot. In fact, you said so much you forgot to read what I said. I repeat, you can't tell someone their opinion is wrong, that is what makes opinions so unique. You seem pretty passionate about your thoughts--I feel the same. Lighten up? Take your own advice man, quit giving it.
I still disagree with your "cap." 4-6% of a 30,000 student body is significant. The church can't always educate them in their country so they go to BYU, BYUI, AND BYUH. I don't care do discuss it anymore because you are just as stubborn as me and just like you accuse me, you can't be wrong either. i.e. MWF's white flag. Just read all of your posts. I'm done with this subject. We just have to agree to disagree. THE END

dang, just when I got my bowl of popcorn and soda.....
How many scholarships can a DIV 1 school offer? This is based on what the school can offer?
Div 2 is much lower, is that because the schools are smaller and can't offer as much?

D1 schools can offer 4.5 scholorships!
Don't know the answer to your second question.

if I'm right, it's the same. I just don't see why you'd have 28 guys on the roster, only be able to offer 4.5 with the majority of that going to your foreign students and the possibilties of not seeing the court at all, no school program is that good. I'm sorry, but I love the sport and I'm older. I play it as often as I can with in the limits of also being a good mom and not neglecting my kids. Even being able to practice with a team like BYU, that many guys, that (as I think it was Cougar who said) are really that good? I just can't see why more are not going to different universities (if they are that good) and playing there. I know that there have been a few Lewis players who have done that, they left to play for another school where they got more playing time.
So what is so awesome that would keep 28 guys on a roster and please don't tell me the coach or the program....the love of the game would be enough to make me walk.

I'm just guessing but part of it is probably the religious ties.

You had an opinion on the student body, I have fact. It's not a matter of I think I'm right and you think you're right. I'm right and you're wrong, because I know the situation. We can all agree to disagree on opinion, but you can't dispute fact RY. The fact is the school has a cap on internationals. Research it by asking any member of the board of trustees. As far as my banter with MWF goes, read the posts RY. I do my best to educate. I'm alot more familiar with the BYU program than MWF or you, so I try to share as much as I can. That's all.
