You guys are telling me these announcers are good? I've got three words for you: Mawn OH TONE. Ugh. Thanks for the link though. Are you listening to the Creighton announcers or the Husker ones? I'm getting the Creighton broadcasters on the video feed. Although I don't have a problem with the Creighton announcers either.

I'm getting the Creighton broadcasters on the video feed. Well, I've heard these guys before, I think they are the Nebraska announcers. I clicked the long link earlier. The play-by-play guy is getting a little better. His facts are a little off. Second largest most attended regular season match? 12,000 or so? That doesn't sound right.

This is where the Final Four will be played, right? Yes So, was Nebraska's slow start because they weren't ready to play Creighton? Or, was Creighton just SUPER pumped up? Or, which would be the worst scenario for Husker fans, do the Huskers take a while to get used to the bigger arenas?

Or, which would be the worst scenario for Husker fans, do the Huskers take a while to get used to the bigger arenas? A little of both and it has nothing to do with the size of the arena. As someone stated before NU this year has had a chronic problem of starting off slow, but then burying their opponents later. Something that needs to be fixed and everyone recognizes including the coach.

Still, not meaning to take away... NICELY attended match! Well, heres the thing. I just got done watching the Stanford-Washington match. There were quite a few empty seats for a team that is ranked 3/4 and is hosting a traditional power and the 6th ranked team. If you can't have that thing sold out, it just shows as a volleyball community we still have a long ways to go. They still had a great turnout relatively speaking, but you would hope that great matchups would=instant sellout. In this case its a NU vs a less "reputable" team nationally and it still draws over 11000.

Soy fruit smoothie? I think I'll gag. John Baylor and Lindsey Wischmeiller announcing. I've stated before that Scott Robbs is a good play by play, because of the speed he can call the game. I still like either Diane Mendenhall or Lindsey as color commentators as they will give you technicall insights to the game. This is Lindsey's first year and I think she does pretty good. Soy smoothies? Is that what Baylor drinks or does Cook make his team drink that?

If someone, say me, for example, were to google 'nebraska volleyball' you don't get 'www.huskers.com' not at all, actually. Poor Web design... really bad You do get to huskers.com if you look for football. Furthermore, if you said, well, I know that Nebraska are the cornhuskers, and search for cornhucker volleyball, you get squat, too. I know your focus is specifically on VB, but sometimes a more general search topic like "nebraska athletics" yields a quick path to the intended target. Or, you could always use the "Website" links at RichKern.com. As I recall, this gives you options to link in at several different levels within school and conference websites.

So, it was 7-in a row.
Regarding attendance. I like what Nebraska has going with large attendance at the matches. I think that Hawaii would be at 10,000 per match if the prices weren't so expensive here. It's just a little too expensive for the families to make it when it's free to watch on TV.
The folks in California tell you that there are 'too many other things to do' besides go to the volleyball matches, but I think that's bull. I think that overall volleyball isn't marketed well, isn't given attention at the match (more of a high school atmosphere at most gyms), and the fans are typically not felt 'appreciated.'
It's not a hard thing to do all of the above, it just takes some folks that are dedicated and inspired about their program.
