How are you going to handle the rest? Unlike AVCA and RKPI, Pablo is not going to update next week. Once the tournament starts, I think rankings should be locked for the rest of the time. You could just use the end of the season Pablo rankings all the way out. I would venture to guess it will still outperform the updated AVCA rankings. It would be most fair to use the current rankings for the entire tournament instead of just for 48 (first and second round) of the total 63 matches. There is one more in-season AVCA Poll (Dec. 4) which could change its picks, but I think that would create an unlevel field. I don't know how long the in-season RKPI and Kern Poll will keep going, but the same reasoning would apply.

I know RKPI will come out next week, again, along with a new Kern poll and the AVCA
I am the only one who is not doing an update. STM - stick in the mud

Very similar picks by all for the first two rounds of the NCAA's, so no one ranking got more than 2 correct picks over any other ranking. For the rest of the tournament, it appears that no ranking will have more than two picks, at most, different than any other ranking.
A. CUMULATIVE RESULTS (Weeks 5-15, covering the period September 18-December 3. These include all the weekly Pablo and RKPI rankings generated this year except for the first two, 9-4 and 9-11):
1. MATCHES WHERE PABLO, RKPI, AVCA AND RICH KERN ARE ALL HEAD-TO-HEAD:
Pablo 173-53____76.5% RKPI 165-61_____73.0% Rich Kern 170-56__75.2% AVCA 167-59_____73.9%
2. PABLO HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH RICH KERN ONLY:
Pablo 181-59____75.4% Rich Kern 179-61_74.6%
3. PABLO HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH AVCA ONLY:

6. RKPI HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH AVCA ONLY:

B. MATCHES FOR WEEK ENDING 12-3-06 (NCAA first two rounds) ONLY:

FINAL RESULTS SUMMARY: Pablo won every head-to-head season-long match-up against the other ratings (excluding publius ). The Rich Kern Poll finished second, followed by the AVCA Poll and the RKPI fourth. The same order held true for all of the season-long head-to-heads. A. FINAL SEASON-LONG CUMULATIVE RESULTS (Weeks 5-17, covering the period September 18-December 16. These include all the weekly Pablo and RKPI rankings generated this year except for the first two, 9-4 and 9-11): 1. MATCHES WHERE PABLO, RKPI, AVCA AND RICH KERN ARE ALL HEAD-TO-HEAD: Pablo 186-55____77.2% RKPI 177-64_____73.4% Rich Kern 183-58__75.9% AVCA 180-61_____74.7% 2. PABLO HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH RICH KERN ONLY: Pablo 194-61____76.1% Rich Kern 192-63_75.3% 3. PABLO HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH AVCA ONLY: Pablo 192-57____77.1% AVCA 183-66____73.5% 4. PABLO HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH RKPI ONLY: Pablo 232-81___74.1% RKPI 221-92____70.6% 5. RKPI HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH RICH KERN ONLY: RKPI 186-69_____72.9% Rich Kern 192-63_75.3% 6. RKPI HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH AVCA ONLY: RKPI 182-67_____73.1% AVCA 183-66____73.3% B. MATCHES FOR TWO WEEKS ENDING 12-16-06 (NCAA Regional and Final Four matches) ONLY: Pablo, Rich Kern and AVCA were all 13-2; RKPI was 12-3. All four missed the Hawaii-USC match. Rich Kern and AVCA missed the Minnesota-Florida match. Pablo and RKPI missed the Texas-Wisconsin match and RKPI also missed the Washington-Penn State match. All four of them predicted Nebraska and Stanford would meet in the finals and that Nebraska would win the Championship.

I think it is worth reminding folks at this point:
7. RICH KERN HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH AVCA ONLY:
Rich Kern 183-58__75.9% AVCA 180-61_____74.7%
Keep in mind that the matches in the competition are generally chosen because they are interesting, often meaning close. Thus, we would expect that the predictions in other matches would be better. Indeed, Pablo went 82.2% overall this year.
