I love the middle game of Killingsworth.

The most obvious absolute lock for National Teamer?
Pavan.

But for US, I think Holloway has a shot considering she's just a freshman now so 2012 is very possible.

I don't think I've seen enough of Hampton, because I've only seen her sucking it up. I just don't get what's great about her. I think she has decent defensive and passing skills, but nothing amazing. Has Killingsworth improved her blocking? That's my same question w/ Foluke. Both are great at hitting, but not sure about the blocking (especially since that seems to be the signature of Team USA). Merriweather and Harmotto are great in both aspects. I guess Crimes could be in the mix too. Fawcett has great velocity on her hits, so the potential for her to terminate at the international level is there I think. I know it takes smart hitting too. Crystal Morrison is smart, but I see her getting dug a lot at the collegiate level. So I kinda agree w/ Keystonekid on this one. Beach would be a good fit for her. I'd say Larson is a possibility for after 2008, but she has a ways to go before reaching an elite level. Maybe Klineman would be a possibility for 2008. I don't know if her serve receive skills are good enough, but they'd probably on par w/ Haneefs.

the outside hitters in this college season does not wow me. I think the national team needs a season hitter. By 2008 ogonna looks like a lock and maybe willoughby will be enticed to wear the red blue and white. I see perhaps barboza and larson maybe on the team but will be riding the bench

The most obvious absolute lock for National Teamer? Pavan. Ah, that would be the Canadian National Team, along with Kim Schram, Syndie Nadeau and Stacey Gordon among others.

Ruffda, I am not going to say your stupid (mostly cause your not) but you honestly don't know why Fawcett would be better suited over Morrsion Internationally? Morrison is a very good player, but could not compete at the net at that level. Fawcett is a big time player offensively, if you saw her in Colorado Springs this summer with our national team against Metcalf and the other international stars, she fit in more than nicely. International volleyball has gone nearly all leftside attack. Morrison vs an international block, just could not kill balls, Fawcett could. I think the days of the all around outside hitter are all but over, sad to say. If you watch international volleyball, it is not very pleasing aesthetically for this reason. It's tee it up, bang. Tee it up bang, pretty well describes Fawcett and not Morrison.

I'm surprised. That's all. I've never seen Morrison struggle offensively.
What do they do about Fawcett's ball control?

I like Marcie Hampton of Florida and Christina Houghtelling of Nebraska With great improvements, Hooker, Houston, has the potential...but GREAT improvements needed. Regarding Hooker, I just don't believe that Volleyball is her first love. I don't expect to see her on the volleyball court after college. I do expect her to be on the USA Track & Field team.

Morrison doesn't struggle offensively, but we are talking about a much different level than college vb. Fawcett doesn't really handle the ball poorly at all, also there are alot of top international attackers who do not serve recieve or even play in the back row.

There may be a lot of top international attackers who do not serve receive, because the rest of the team carries the load. If you have Bown, Scott, Nnamani, Fawcett, Haneef ... ummm, who is going to pass the ball?? I happen to agree with you that Fawcett could definitely excel at the next level, but the rest of the puzzle pieces would have to fit for her to find a way on to the court regularly.

Yes, but the USA has a team full of them. Someone needs to pass and defend.
And, with all respect, Fawcett would be playing backrow at PSU if she had international skills there.

I believe he was -- and, let me be clear, I respect his opinion. I'm just surprised that Morrison is viewed this way.

Nothing like that at all. Just curious.
