Texas has had a very up and down season... They've been plagued with injury and inconsistant play. They certainly know how to step up to good competition, as they showed at the AVCA showcase early on against Washington and tonight against NU. I see their weaknesses in their freshman. Both Engle and Hooker both have the ability to play incredible.....and without impact. I really feel that Engle will be one of the best.......

Great Shot/Scott! That is a scary angle! I may have to take vacation time to attend the Texas regional this year just to see her hit in person. ![](http://cache.texassports.com//image_lib/hooker_destinee_101806_400.jpg)

Plus, she looked like she was having fun and firing the team up... which brings to mind Nebraska's dull demeanor. Why does everyone look crazy? I know Cook is crazy... but does he just recruit like-minded individuals? Everyone on that court looks like they're about to suffocate.

I actually feel sorry for the Husker program and its fans. Anything less than a National Title will be a disappointment for Nebraska.

Yet the demeanor they have now isn't going to help them win a title against teams that are much more loose. We saw what happened last year. It's just frustrating for a fan to watch them act like dominating machines.

I can totally understand how frustrated Husker fans are. They will need to ensure they are peaking at post season. Dominating during the season, like last year, was the expectation. Keeping up energy and the expectation that they have NOT wont the national championship, will hopefully be their motivation moving into their 2nd half of the season. Keep Pavan in it and realize that defense wins matches........those will get you where you want to be.

I think it is pretty impressive that Nebraska will now probably run the table in the regular season after unexpectedly losing the national player of the year. At least Texas was able to give them a challenge. I wish it had been on tv somewhere where I could see it.

HOpe the former, don't hope the latter. ;D

Nebraska isn't as good as they were last year, and even though they will no doubt be a force come December, I would not be suprised to see them lose to a Western school. More specifically a Pac10 squad.---After all that's how it's been since their last title. The Huskers better hope for that Florida regional.

The Huskers better hope for that Florida regional. Nope UH Regional only. Although UT, UF, and UH have all had some uncharacteristic if not bad losses this year, I doubt they'll have anymore. This will likely put UT and UF in the 5-7 range of the overall seeding depending how the Pac-10 gauntlet turns out. UNL will not be sent to Texas and UH is a better regional than UF. PSU will likely go to Florida. That leaves the top 2 Pac10 teams for UW and UT which actually works out. 1 UNL 2 PSU 3 Stanford 4 Washington 5 UCLA 6 Texas 7 Florida 8 USC @uh - UNL, USC @uf - PSU, UF @ut - Stanford, UT @uw - UW, UCLA Could see some creative seeding to put PSU in UW regional and send UCLA/Stanford to UT/UF to separate Pac10 top 4 into each regionals. Or not.

they need to give Pavan the ball, remember she "wasn't going to let this team lose" .... and she didn't.

Pavan may have struggled most of the match, but in game 5 she was unstoppable, swinging .600. Again, when the game is on the line, she came through. That's why she's the Big 12 POY.

I think NU has a LOT of pressure to get to the Final Four, maybe even to get to the title game, but not neccessarily win the title. Most NU fans understand that losing the POY, 2x Defending Block champion, and one of the best all around players at NU was a huge blow. As far as the demeanor, thing goes. Ok so while they don't strut across the floor after each kill or scream like a banshee, (like Hooker which is fine for her, its just not Nebraska) doesn't mean they are robotic. I will say in THIS particular match they looked fairly tight. The Big 12 title is on the line and this was the scene of their only loss in 54 previous conference tries. I am sure they have heard the talk about "whether they were really that good given their competition", and the constant slow start label. I did have to chuckle when I saw Pavan after game 1. If you were to judge her personality on this match, you all definately had a case when saying she looks scary. I've never seen her look so pi#&*& off. But she came through when it counted the most. I think their overall results speak for themselves and they have nothing to apologize for as far as their demeanor. They've spent the last 3 years being the hunted. Missouri had their best team ever last year and their "fun" demeanor didn't get them anywhere against Nebraska. (other than a couple of great matches, which are still two of my favorite matches from last year)
