Alabama more or less sealed it with their win over Tennessee, no? I'd like to move them into the sure thing pile, but if nothing else, they are near the top of the bubble now. In terms of Alabama vs Kentucky, even before last night, I think you had to go with Alabama. The committee likes good wins. Has Kentucky done anything as good as beating LSU? No. Alabama has done better in the conference, won the first head to head, so that is at least a wash, and has a good win that Kentucky lacks. I don't think this is all that close.
I still think there is a lot to like about Arizona St. Looking at them side by side with Wash St makes it pretty clear there is a world of difference between them. If they can get eligible, I'd be seriously considering them. Of course, I'm not on the committee.
Clemson probably should be listed on the bubble, but I think they shot themselves out the running. Had they been able to beat Duke in this second go, I would like them a lot more.

Very interesting timing, p-dub. Tomorrow Kentucky plays Alabama, so we will see what happens on the court. Incidentally, Pablo has picked Kentucky (due to HCA).

But even if UK wins, that means they have split. Again, UK lacks that really good win that Alabama has (and the good win that UK has (Tennessee), Alabama just got)

By the way, I saw this someplace. Teams in the Pac-10, Big 12, and Big Ten can make the toureny with a sub .500 conference record. Its definitely been the case in the past.

overall .500 record is the requirement, not .300 in conference

Missouri Valley ConferenceOne guaranteed seed, 3-equally capable teams of filling it... Wichita State, Northern Iowa, Missouri State. Good question. Let's see how they play out. Creighton is a pretty good darkhorse in this tourney (let's just ignore those bus-ride matches with SoDakotaState and Drake). This next weekend's matches will be very interesting. Bad travel partner in Drake so WSU and MSU will both be preparing primarily for Jays, and WSU will have revenge thoughts I'm sure. If Creighton can hold at home then they SHOULD finish out hopefully at 22-7 and 14-4 with at least (likely) a tie for 3rd in conf. At home they've played well with only loses to Iowa (13-15 in fifth), Nebraska in 4 games, and NoIowa (13-15 in fifth). I realize the MVC has on really significant wins over non-conf but they do have some solid ones. Good NC Wins CU d Nevada 3-0 CU d MiddleTennState 3-0 CU d St Louis 3-2 UNI d Clemson 3-2 UNI d MississippiState 3-0 UNI d Alabama 3-2 UNI d NotreDame 3-2 MSU d CSU 3-2 WSU d ColOfCharleston 3-1 WSU d Illinois 3-2 Bad NC Losses Iowa d CU 3-2 SDakotaSt d CU 3-1 IowaState d UNI 3-1 GaTech d UNI 3-2 KansasSt d UNI 3-2 TexasA&M d MSU 3-0 KansasSt d WSU 3-0 NoCarolina d WSU 3-2 OralRoberts d WSU 3-1 Expected NC Losses Nebr d CU 3-1 Purdue d UNI 3-0 Minn d UNI 3-1 Utah d MSU 3-0 So the only loss to a Bubble team is ISU's win over UNI. But the MVC has wins over bubble teams Nevada, Clemson, MissSt, Alabama, NotreDame, and CSU. With that in mind I think there's an outside chance the MVC will get one at large bid; likely for the 2nd place team in the tourney. (But reality will set in and they'll get the single auto-bid again.)

The Missouri Valley is always in such a tough spot. I think it's a great conference and if I lived in that area would totally love to see the top 4-5 teams battling out during the conference season.
I think that Creighton's win over Nevada keeps Reno out. I think that UNI's close win over Notre Dame may be the straw that gets unworthy ND in, if UNI wins the auto-bid. Wichita State's schedule was really weak this year. If they don't win the auto-bid, they are home. Missouri State's loss to Texas A&M is really bad.

Just wanted to bring this back up. Any changes? Anyone lock up a spot, fall to the bubble or have their bubble burts?
