When wanting to host 1st/2nd rounds, it helps to have teams from your area make it in. Makes it easier for the committee to keep the higher seeds at home. I feel pretty good that Florida will host the 1st 2 rounds with some southern teams getting in.

A lot of people make this mistake, but it is, in fact, not true. Stephen D. Austin founded Texas. Steve F. Austin was the Six Million Dollar Man, played by Robert Conrad.
Look it up.
Or you can just trust me on this.

florida will probably head to duke for the 1st and 2nd rounds to keep cost down and since the ncaa generally doesn't award regional teams a host in the 1st/2nd round games.

That's not true, Florida has always hosted the 1st/2nd round games when they host a regional. With FAMU in and only 140 miles from Gainesville, I feel confident they'll join UF there.

Just tell me that St. Johns is getting sent to PSU. You assume they are getting in. I can see them left out, like Wichita State or EWU from years past.

When are the selections made ? They'll be announced Sunday, November 26 at 2:30 PM (EST I think) on ESPNews. My ESPNews schedule says it's going to be all "The Blitz" for about a solid 11 hours. I'm not sure when they're actually made, per se. I know in men's basketball some selections weren't final even after the official announcement. Some conference tournaments were on the day of the selection show, and the committee more or less said that Conference X would only get one bid, and that would be the conference tournament winner. According to the Stanford Selection Show Party invite, the actual selection show is between 12-1 p.m. California time.

St Johns had a tougher schedule than Wichita State or EWU did -- especially with LSU and Florida to end it. Even if they lose, it helps their RPI, I bet.

I think St. Johns is in with their wins over ND and Louisville, but I think to be safe, they need to win at least 1 this coming weekend.

Their Friday match against LSU may well determine whether they get in. Of course, if the NCAA decides to keep Notre Dame's streak intact, then it would be hard not to invite St. John's.

Wow, UAB--the Conference fifth seed-- just came back to take Memphis in five to win the Conference USA championship and a trip to ...New Orleans, Gainesville (?).

I don't think the Big East champ stays home while the 7th place teams in other conferences go.
It HAS to help that they can always used eastern teams for their brackets.

UAB, the #5 seed. Now there's a conference whose champ is in trouble. Who was it? Tulsa?

forgot that famu was in and j-sate as well. florida prob will get the host with those two and probably flying in michigan, colorado, or maybe arizona state if they make it. think st. johns is in regardless of this weekend. good rpi and regular season big east champ. the big east should get two with louisville getting the auto-bid.
