Pac-10:
Taylor Carico - USC. Hana Cutura - Cal. Sonja Newcombe - Oregon.
Other possibilities:
Tamari Miyashiro - Washington. Rachel Rourke - Oregon State (OSU's 3-18 record doesn't help).

I understand that to receive FOY, a player has to be a true freshman. Miyashiro is a redshirt freshman, so I don't believe she could get the award. I'm not sure about the others who've been mentioned.

I'm not sure about the others who've been mentioned. Saw her name in the Pac-10 stats leaders with "FR" next to her name. My mistake. I'd be surprised to see Newcombe get Pac-10 FOY or Pacific Region FOY. I just per her name in because she's still doing pretty well even without world-beater stats (3.44 KPG hitting .214). I still think Cutura has a great shot at it, although her mid-season slide doesn't help. Right now Hana has 3.87 KPG hitting .233.

We've seen how Florida plays without Elyse(the South Carolina loss). She's as important to her team as any freshman in the country.
