miamlink obviously has not had to try and dig one of Pavan's attacks. I do think she gets over hyped at times but we should all be so disappointed in a young woman who is on the Dean's List Majoring in Micro Biology and is "only ok" hitter.

Defintely Megan Hodge from Penn State. I also consider Cusack (I grit my teeth at her - she picked up a perfect tip shot by Mason during the Florida v. Hawaii match... ) and Engle.

Second the motion. God, I am agreeing with a Gator fan not named Gatorvball! For some consolation, it's not Florida Person. ;D I'm consoled, too. Hawaiiiii''''i'i fans suck at thinking.

Okay I know you may think Pavan is smart, and she probably is, but I am not speaking of academics. This is about volleyball. I can guarantee you that I could defend anything that skeleton can dish. miamlink obviously has not had to try and dig one of Pavan's attacks. If you're an actual college volleyball player, who may actually play against her, then great. Otherwise, no one here cares what you can do.

And don't throw trolling out when you were the quickest to respond. I don't see what being the quickest to respond has to do with trolling... www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=trollA troll is somebody who likes to start arguements and piss people off just for their own amusement. This is different than somebody who is just very arguementative and has a bad temper, but is actually being serious with their posts... A troll frequently doesnt even believe what they are typing, and isnt trying to win the arguement. They just enjoy seeing people get all worked up. If i was a troll i might post about how i think Shoji (spelling?) is a very overrated coach who isnt good. All the hawaii fans could come up with extremely well thought out responses making lots of great logical points and feel like they "won" the arguement. But as i troll i would just think it was funny that they got all worked up and wasted their time typing out some long thing... In fact, i wouldnt be surprised if that is your next thread... So when somebody makes an incredibly stupid comment like "Pavan is not good," im not going to put much effort into responding because i figure they are just trying to get a kick out of pissing people off... A comment like "pavan is very good, but not as amazing as everybody says she is..." maybe. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing, but i can see that being a viewpoint somebody could actually hold... But the idea that pavan is "not good" is hillarious...

Hodge will be freshman of the Year, she has the stats, plays on a top team, and has had monster matches. I believe based on the system now being used to choose Big Ten POY, she will win that award. Can't imagine a freshman winning Big 10 POY and not being national FOY.

Do they not have a separate FOY award?

I find it hilarious that whomever you are just did exactly what you are preaching I shouldn't do. I'm sure you have a point, but it's lost in translation. And, why is everyone in here so upset about anothers opinion? Aren't forums meant to express your thoughts? Most of you wouldn't dare mention these things in person, but anything goes online right? BS! I do believe that Pavan is tall and can hit (sometimes), but I think there is a much longer list of players that are better than her. I don't think she is good. I've been around volleyball probably much longer than many of you in here and I know what type of player I like and she is not it. If she was a recruit on the team I coach she may be one of those stand out players for her freshman year, but then something better would come along and replace her. Busboom and Holloway ring a bell? Holloway doesn't have nearly the same match experience as Busboom, but then she's out just like that. So to the rest of you getting "upset" by these postings then get over it. It's an opinion which I am able to post as much as I want and "Troll" as much as I want to. I didn't even know what "trolling" meant so which of us is posting too much now? And don't throw trolling out when you were the quickest to respond. My opinion is that Pavan is a DAMN GOOD Player! She is definitely one of the top 3-4 players in the country in my opinion.
Now back to the topic at hand. FOY candidates Hodge, Engle and Hooker definitely the top three candidates. Dolgner should also be mentioned. These are all impact players are very good teams and I'm lucky to have seen all four play in person this season. Good luck to them all!

My final pick is Hooker. If Whitney Dosty had a better year (a much better year) then I would have picked her.
