It seems that Nebraska and PSU have shown the same sort of inconsistency that we're seeing in the top Pac-10 teams. PSU has two losses to show for it, and Nebraska one -- but they'd probably have had more if they had top 10 opponents every other week.
The bottom line is the championship is up for grabs this year. We don't know who's going to put that string of good matches together and win it all, but there are several teams that could. All of this should make the tourney a lot of fun to follow.

I would bet dimes to hundred dollar bills that if Nebraska or Penn State were in the PAC-10 they would have more losses than what they currently have.....I guess the ultimate question here will be answered by the upcoming playoffs..... I would agree with you, but they would also be much better teams for playing in the PAC 10.

Would PSU be a better team for playingn Arizona, ASU, WSU, and Oregon State vs. Northwestern, Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana?
I would argue the competion that PSU receives from MN, WI, OSU, and Purdue is equal to the competition the Pac 10 gets from Stanford, UW, USC, UCLA, and Cal. Plus, travel is a bigger factor for Big 10 teams. The Big 10 schedule does not allow for USC/UCLA, Stanford/Cal trips. How would the Pac 10 teams fare if they needed to play WI on Friday night and then have to take a 5 hour bus ride to play MN the following night? Or, the OSU/PSU trip?
Suffice it to say that if there was a conference that included Stanford, USC, UCLA, UW, Cal, PSU, MN, WI, OSU, and Purdue that there would be no team that went undefeated in conference play and, most likely, the conference champion would have a minimum of 3 losses.

Can Colorado beat Nebraska? Can Wisconsin/Ohio State beat Penn State? Hopefully the original, very subjective question can be decided on the court in the NCAAs. To even ask such rhetoric is equal, IMO, to say, "Ok, let's put together a 64-team bracket and have a bunch of "experts" decide on paper the NCAA champ.

This is such a ridiculous question because as posters have already mentioned anyone can beat anyone. This isn't 2003 where USC was unbeatable. This is 2006 where every single team has suffered an upset at least once..... right?
It's open.
Colorado can certainly beat Nebraska Ohio State can certainly beat Penn State BYU can certainly beat Stanford Oregon can certainly beat Cal USC/UCLA lost to Washington- who was lower ranked at the time; and overrated at NO.2.
So this thread is kinda pointless don't ya think?

Ubud to wazu is even worst.. Yes, but there's only one road trip like that in the Pac-10 conference.

Why is Florida NOT included in the topic?
I bet Florida will beat some of these Pac 10 teams.
That UCLA-Florida match was eons ago...and it was one of Cusack's first games. And Florida gave UCLA a match. And they were tired, having traveled the farthest.

and Eugene to Beaverton is like 7hrs Not only is that not true, but there is no pac 10 school in Beaverton. Eugene to Corvallis, on the other hand, is less than an hour between each other.

cal to stanford is the same.. specially if u get stuck at the bridge Doesn't typically take me more than 90 minutes of solo driving. My worst time ever (Arizona at Stanford during a Thursday commute-hour downpour) it might have been two hours tops. The secret is not taking the Bay Bridge, but the Nimitz Freeway (I-880) down to Fremont and across the Dumbarton Bridge. In addition, there's more distance covered by carpool lanes on the Nimitz. You could easily get stuck in San Francisco and the Bayshore (US-101) is no picnic.
