On the flight plan issue...
Yes, you might have a direct flight to a certain airport ..but not at a convenient time nor price because few flights or airlines that go there.
Las Vegas is cheaper to get to than aaaalllbannnie.
and flying out a day earlier because of flight times adds to travel cost.
Minnesota had just as minney fans as some of the other Home teams 2 years ago. Even when they gave free tickets away.

You don't have to fly out the day before.

I must apologize. According to the Albany web site their total attendance for the year was 2,124 (not sure where they got their figures but there they are). Siena's home attendance was 1,278 and St. John's was 2,594. Attendance averages: Albany - 177, Siena - 142, St. John's - 259. Total averages for the schools - 578. If Albany can get 500 fans to attend these matches I'll be shocked.
MN has 578 fans waiting for the doors to open.

Does anyone know if there will be a broadcast or GameTracker for the MN/Siena match? Nothing is posted on the Albany website of course.

The GT web site does not indicate the MN/Siena match but does show St. Johns/Albany.
I would imagine we will have to wait until JT posts his comments on VT to find out how they did.

You don't have to fly out the day before. For a direct flight, I believe you do. I'm flying out on Thursday, but I have a stop in Chicago, since I'm flying Untied, rather than Northwest. The direct NWA flight got me in at, I believe, 7PM. ... he checks the timetable ...Oops. Nope. Bad recollection. I didn't take the flight because 1) it was $630 2) it got in at 4:37PM, and I expected that the first match would be at 5PM. Turns out it's at 6PM, so you might be able to fly in, get your bag, get a rental car, and get to the arena before 6PM. Not much before, though, and just a teeny delay will make you miss the first game.

Florida and Nebraska better be careful. The Gophers took a game from Nebraska in Lincoln without their Libero. I really think the Gophers are going to come in and upset some people this year, especially since they didn't get the first couple of rounds at home. The gophers will have some extra motivation to eliminate Nebraska. They want a few more games in front of a home crowd with Omaha only being a 5 or 6 hour drive from Minneapolis. :-)

The Gophers need to win this weekend before they can even think about what can happen in Gainesville.

The NCAA cares more about saving money than growing the sport, it's that simple. No other way to explain UW, Minnesota and Hawaii, all seeds, not hosting. Those are 3 of the largest fan bases in women's volleyball and none will get to see their teams play in the 1st weekend. It'll be a disaster if UW or UH don't even get to their own regional. The tournament should be about fairness and growing the sport. Not letting those 3 host fails in both regards. It's a crime. Looking forward to the UW and Colorado match. I think Pepperdine is gonna knock Hawaii out of the tournament.

Hawai'i is only focusing on a tough Duck team at the moment.

I've seen both Pepperdine and Long Beach play live this year. Sac State whaled on "the beach", swept in 3. Book mark this one, Pepperdine will beat Hawaii should they meet in the second round.

Pepperdine already played Hawaii twice this year, and lost. They were demoralized on the second night.
This one is AT LBSU and Beach fans are craving attention. The Beach will withstand the crashing of the waves just enough for the Rainbow Wahine to smother the Beach with their sunbathing towels.

The Gophers are a very different team with our starting libero who last year was the team's MVP. It all starts with passing and digging and Malama is the connoisseur. Our team chemistry has also dramatically improved as of late. I have high expectations of this year's Gopher team in the NCAA tournament.
