So....what are you thinking? Not scared about playing Nebraska....IF we can get by Florida. That is a big IF, since Florida is playing at home. BUT come on.......WHY CANT WE EVER HOST FIRST AND SECOND ROUNDS? Great attendance....We LOVE VB here...but no....we get sent to NY. Just like when we hosted a regional, and they sent us on the road for first and second rounds, also to the east coast...WTF?

Very disappointed about not hosting.
I think Florida, should we advance that far, will be very tough at home. Nice to see the Big 10 get 7 teams in.

Perhaps we should have lost to Wisconsin at home, for Wisconsin gets the 10th seed, AND gets to host the first and second rounds.

I submitted tickets for our group of 14 to attend the 1st/2nd rounds at MN, which probably would have drawn close to 5,000 fans. How many fans will they get at Albany? 500 like at Tennessee last year (which btw TN gets to host again). Not to mention MN has s great facility for playing volleyball....UGH this is frustrating. And I feel really bad for our seniors!!!

at least it's much warmer in Florida this time of year, so MN and NU fans can enjoy some snow free weather.

Let's see. In 04 MN is a #1 seed and a regional host. They get sent on the road for rounds 1 and 2. This year they are a number 8 seed and again get sent on the road.
Florida is a 9 seed and gets to host all 4 rounds. Will someone on the committee explain this to me?!!!!!!!
I hope the NCAA and/or Albany enjoy all 1000 people that show up for all 3 sessions.
What a friggin' joke.

I think as long as we have Nebraska and Wisconsin being seeded, which I see happening in years to come, Gopher fans can look forward to the team being sent God knows where for the 1st two rounds of the tourney. MN is the HI of the midwest!!!

I see that TN gets to host again despite not being a seed. Nice.
The NCAA must have been overwhelmed by the attendance last year.

Maybe the committee said, the tradeoff for a lower seed is not screwing them again by sending them on the road. sorry, but there are not 8 teams better than Florida right now. Nothing the committee says will change that.

I agree, I had FL at #7 but they could have been down graded because of the hosting thing. And I just checked the Gophers website and the TN/MN match last year drew a whopping 502, which I'm sure had at least 150 Gopher fans....SHEESH!

I'm so confused about why MN doesnt get regionals? Do they not bid for them?? Does the committee not really care about attendace or facilities? So sad I wont be able to see them play live again this year.

The NCAA cares more about saving money than growing the sport, it's that simple. No other way to explain UW, Minnesota and Hawaii, all seeds, not hosting. Those are 3 of the largest fan bases in women's volleyball and none will get to see their teams play in the 1st weekend. It'll be a disaster if UW or UH don't even get to their own regional. The tournament should be about fairness and growing the sport. Not letting those 3 host fails in both regards. It's a crime.

And St Johns will probably beat Albany so you can imagine how well attended the more than likely matchup between MN/St Johns will be. St Johns must not have submitted a bid to host.
