If someone would have told you that the Huskers would try to match up Stalls on Nana, and Stalls would ouplay Nana badly, what would you of said? Or if Larson hit .000, or UCLA outblocked Nebraska. It's a funny game. Both teams were called for exactly four BHE in the match. You may not like it, but it didn't decide the match, the players did.

As a UCLA fan and someone who was only following the game over Gametracker, I can say fairly certainly that UCLA did not lose because of bad calls. They are very prone to bad serve receive rotations and I'm sure that bad passing was the root of all their problems. Give Nebraska credit - they were able to adjust and neutralize Nana. But it wasn't just that. They forced UCLA into making way too many hitting errors. If you've been watching UCLA lately, they win by not making unforced errors and letting their defense make plays. I've read on a UCLA board that Katie Carter sustained some sort of injury during practice this week - so maybe they're not at full strength. But they also forced Sather into hitting more than 100 points below her recent average.
Congrats Bruins on a great season. And good luck to Nebraska in the finals...I'm sure it will be intense

I think Larson's boxscore say's a lot about her as a player. We are all focused on her awful .000 attack pct. She had 25 digs, 5 blocks and had 1 reception error in 4 games. She found away to impact the match at a high level ( I guess good and bad) I think it is a mark of a great player.

UCLA lost the serve/ recieve game and thus the match. They didn't look as sharp as they did last week in Honolulu but this was a match that was certainly ripe for their picking. It might've been a different outcome had they won game 2 but they didn't. Sure some calls were bad but the game is ultimately won and lost on the court. This is the first match I've witnessed, where Stalls finally lived up to her hype. I'm still waiting on Larson. Like Keystone mentioned, she did a very good job in the backcourt for the Huskers but she wasn't named first team AA as a libero.

True dat! You may not have seen the matches, but Stalls has been pretty darn good all year. It's funny, that no matter the talent, size etc... matches are still decided by serve/pass. Look at last years final match. Nebraska is actually weaker blocking and attacking this year, but have improved their passing and defense. I think we are going to see the two best teams in the country play for the title for the 2nd year in a row.

I think you can say the officiating was bad, and still say, "you gotta give Nebraska credit, they turned it around and got the job done with a key player really struggling" Both of those statements would be accurate. I am not saying one way or the other. Maybe it was terrible. But I know IB couldn't tell from watching it on TV, especially _that_ telecast. And then he says it's not his team. Riiiiiiiiiiiight. He's not a UCLA fan.

UCLA was _very_ good for most of this match. Played some great defense. But serve receive absolutely let them down.
And Nebraska kicked it up a notch.
Credit to both teams...

Nebraska deserved to win because they won the big points in games 2,,3,and 4. UCLA played very well and unfortunately for UCLA this is their best team in years and will reamain their best team in years.....they will NOT have the team to get this far anytime soon......NANA showed her vulnerabilities,,,,,unable to play back row, which hurt her team.....oh well, sh-t happens ;D

Out of curiosity, how many of Pavan's 22 kills came from the backrow?
