I understand from the encyclopedia that the badger is an animal that has to flourish in the upper half of the country because if they venture too far south they can't take the heat and are likely to get gored and trampled by a herd of longhorns. That has happened, true........but the badger has been known to be ferocious in it's own habitat, especially against mammals who claim warmer, idyllic islands as their home.

I wonder if Shoji is considering redshirting Kaufman next year. She will have a hard time breaking into the starting line up at MB with Gregory, Sanders, and Thomas. I think Shoji said Kaufman has the potential to be an amazing 5th year senior. I actually thought of the same thing. With Arnott, Keefe, possibly Otineru, it's certain that the OPP will be busy next season. Middle's will be stack even though I believe Simmons will redshirt. I think that hawaii might get one of those setters transfering (from UCSB or Utah), if they didn't pick a school already.

Outlook for '07
Same as it always is. A whole bunch of build up until the season starts. Another conference championship against inferior talent (sounds almost like the Big12). Once the tournament seeds are released we'll have to hear about how Hawaii got screwed with their seed, playing site, or opponents. A Husker fan (probably me) will say something smart, and then the conversation will turn to how much better it is to live in Hawaii than Nebraska. All of this is designed to rattle said Husker fan. In the mean time Nebraska will be working their way to Sacramento, and the Whine will be tanning on the beach.
I predict Hawaii to choke once again, and then blame Mary Wise, John Cook, NCAA, AVCA, and anyone else that reads this board. Then around Christmas time next year we will see another post that says something like "Hawaii's Outlook for '08" and Husker Nation will be celebrating another National Championship (5 games over Stanford in an absolute slugfest).
Sounds 'bout right.

hawaii's players are better than the ones they were playing with, and so are the coaches. It's not rocket surgery.

Anyone who transfers to Hawaii always turn out better than they were on their old teams. Why? Some players just need a change of scenery, who knows? Hawaii has has a history of impact transfers in the past. Nikki Hubbert, Heather Bown, Victoria Prince, Sarah Mason and others, have all had success after transferring. Dave Shoji has even said as much in past interviews that Hawaii has had a reputation as a good school to transfer to, each offseason he receives inquiries from at least a dozen players inquiring about transfers, but they tend to only take transfers who can make an immidiate impact (i.e. no project players). They have had players who wanted to transfer in the past, but just couldn't take them because there were no scholarships available.

So Nebraska finally wins a Championship at HOME after being the top seed for the past 3 seasons and now all of a sudden, cockroaches like you think it's okay to come out of the closet? Go back to your geriatric convention, with the rest of the Husker fans!
