its win, win for you. I am not a fan of either team, but I got a feeling OSU may hammer them. Either way, UF gets a whole pile of cash! Ohio State and Florida have to do all the work yet share the loot with the rest of their conferences. Ah, social welfare at its best. I SO want this game to finally get here so my fellow Buckeye idiots will stop talking their igner'nt trash. They're babbling like all those Miami boobs 4 years ago. Nobody's unbeatable. But still, my Kroger is selling gator meat for $5.99. Not too chewy, not gamey... I'd make a white/dark meat comparison to the QBs, but that would ruffle some baby birdies around here.... ;D

Mike already had a "short list" of candidates and discussions are presently underway (although - at this time - I'm not a liberty to disclose anyone on it). However, keep in mind that Mike helped and encouraged Dave with his move to Ball State, so you can rest assured that he wasn't caught off guard (and thus unprepared) by Dave's departure. I love it when you do the "I know something you don't know". Is it an ego thing or what? PS No one that knows Dave was caught off guard by this move.

Didn't mean to get your nuts all mixed up there Chock! Not sure why you have so much venom for me. Did Santa skip you this X-mas or is this posting approach part of your New Year's Resolution!?

No, got lots of goodies for Christmas.
It appears to me that you always try and let us think that you are "in the know". Just find it interesting.

It appears to me that you always try and let us think that you are "in the know". Just find it interesting. Nope, InTheKnow clearly earned that moniker years ago based on his extensive knowledge! Now Chock (or should I say Hat), perhaps you have an axe to grind with me for some reason, although I can't imagine why. Oh well, my track record for information on this board (and others) speaks for itself, so to each their own...

I'm sooo not in the know on anything, but I did just finish reading Hebert's book, "The Fire Still Burns," and this jibes with his philosophy on hiring assistant coaches, which is that he only picks ambitious people he knows are going to leave and become head coaches.

Oh, and he also wrote that he likes to help out those new head coach's programs by scheduling non-conference matches with them, so look for the Gophers to get a little Ball State action.

Congrats to Dave Boos. He has paid his dues. We will now find out what type of head coach he can be. He was clearly one of the best assistant coaches in the Big Ten. I don't think it will be too tough to recruit quality players to Ball State.

Every sport has had great assistants that were a bust as head coaches. It's a good move to get some experience now. One name for the Minnesota job when Mike hangs it up that hasn't been mentioned much is Geoff at Ohio. I would think he would be on a very SHORT list for the UM job.

OK, Hebert is just givin' these associate head coach titles away now. I think he gets a free bowl of soup with every associate head coach title he assigns.
