This has been answered: Hugh and Steph Hernesman This isn't entirely correct. Yes, Hugh has been hired (for the first assistant position), but Stephanie has not. I'm not saying she won't end up serving as a volunteer, but Dave will hire a former Gopher as his second assistant (based on what I'm hearing).

Sharon Oesterling is going to be the new 2nd assistant at Ball State? WOW!

Oh, what fun! Can I guess? This is difficult, because it would likely be a first job for whoever it is. I'm going to rule out Steph Hagen and Lindsey Berg because they didn't play for Dave.
I'm going with: Lisa Reinhart, Jen Bowman, Erin Martin or Marci Peniata. Paula? That would be a surprise.
I have no info about this, so these are truly guesses.

I spoke with him, and he is leaning towards a former Minnesota player.

IMO:
Jen Bowman would have good potential as an assistant coach, as would Marci Peniata.
I believe they've both coached at the JO level already.

I spoke with him, and he is leaning towards a former Minnesota player. I just want it known that anything he says about me is BS, and I don't mean Ball State. Just because he's a Big Shot head coach now, is no reason to start being honest. There. I feel better. I suppose Jess Byrnes would be another guess. Fact is, there aren't a lot of former Gophers with much coaching experience. Martin and Bowman were graduate assistants. I'm going with Jen Bowman. As my guess, I mean. Oh, shut up, (R)uffda!

What about Lisa Axel? She is a current assistant coach.

I was just reminded about Axel. There is also Kelli Wicks and Amanda Cipperly with coaching experience.
I forgot about Busse, too -- although I don't know that she has coached.

Becky Bauer would be a good candidate as well.

Becky's not too likely. Didn't play for Dave. Just had twins last year (or was it triplets?).

I don't know that Cip would be an option. While she does have coaching experience her husband is also a coach in the Omaha area. Might be tough for her to move at this point.
I also thought about Kelli Wicks but she only lasted a year as a coach. I think being married has something to do with that.
Axe or JBow would be my guess.
Interesting that I, with no knowledge of anything, ruled out Cip and Wickes due to marriage. if they were men I probably wouldn't raise the issue.
Might go back to why there are so few women in the coaching ranks.

Wicks just had a baby. I believe the baby was born the same day Erin Lorenzen's was.

I think you can count Axel out. I believe she is in a good situation and isn't looking to move again.
