I understand that Chelsea Noble is leaving the Vols. Looking at Purdue, Ohio State and Penn State. OSU makes sense with Main graduating. Purdue and Penn State?? Both have starting setters returning as well as incoming or current setters on the team.

Well, that is interesting news! Chelsea has been at Purdue, and seen the facilities first hand, at the Mortar Board tournament. And she was originally recruited by Penn State, I read. And she is from Vandalia, Ohio, near Dayton, so OSU would be close to home. Sounds like I 'll get to see her one way or another.

She already off the roster at Tenn. That's weird. She set full time for them last year.

Over the weekend, I talked to someone close to the Vol program and it was reported that they were losing their setter due to a transfer to Ohio State. She wants to be closer to home but transfer puts Vols in a tough spot.

Does Julie Knytch have a little sister? But seriously, who will set for Tennessee?

Bartek chooses between, UK and KU it should be official in the next day or 2. KU as in Kansas? I can't see that happening without Brooke having to sit out a season. I don't know if the league requires it or not but I can't see the coaches willing to turn over all their strategy and training to such nearby competition. Cook has done it in the past. Released a player to Missouri.

Does Julie Knytch have a little sister? But seriously, who will set for Tennessee? Actually she does. She was a walk on (i think) for one year at kentucky in 2004. She was only 5-5 and a DS instead of a setter though. Next year i would imagine Sophomore Jena Berg would set a 5-1. In a 6-2 (which we ran on and off last year), sophomore DS / S Jaye Loyd would probably be the other setter. She saw some 6-2 time last year and did pretty well, but she is probably too short (listed 5-5) to compete for the 5-1 spot, unless her jumping ability is incredible. As far as i know those will be the only setters on the roster next year, but that wouldnt include potential invited walk-ons (or obviously last minute commitments / transfers).

Main thing is that it frees up a scholarship for the Huskers. Both parties get something out of this.

Anybody driven from Dayton Ohio to PSU.....not closer than going to Tenn. Can't buy the argument unless she had some other isssues at Tenn. ESTRELLA

Which "Holloway" are we talking about here?

Penn State "Holloway" is on her way to UCLA. Estrella you are correct, that drive to Happy Valley from almost anywhere stinks. From Dayton I am guessing it would have to be about 6 hours plus. Not sure what it is from Dayton to Tennessee but my thought is about 5 hours. Noble has to sit out a year because Tennesee's athletic department does not allow full releases to transfer. Players will have to go through a full appeal process to be able to compete the following year. Football and Basketball are this way so maybe the other sports will follow with the new academic performance numbers that are needed.
