Some kids leave because the coach doesn't want them. Don't forget that. I think UK is a mix of the two. Then why recruit them? 3 of the 4 we know are leaving were recruited by him. Makes no sense to recruit someone and then a year or 2 later decide you don't want them. You might not've recruited them, for one. Plus you see other sides of a kid when they get in your program, things that might not have been on the surface before. Also, if you recruit over that player, it makes sense to ask the kid if they want to stay or not.

I wouldn't say 2 faced. But everyone knows how different people are on the court and off the court. That is why the recruit should watch the coach run a practice and at a match. Do you really think a coach is not going to put on an act at practice if they have a top recruit watching? I would suggest you go watch a match against an opponent that can beat the team you are looking at and don't tell the coaches you will be in the crowd. See how the coaches react when things are not going well.

I heard that 6 or 7 girls who played at Kentucky five years ago, are trying to get their diplomas transferred to another school.

Does anyone know of any new transfers out there? It seems like this would be the time of year for players to be on the lookout for a better situation. Why!? Transferring sucks most of the time. I think its becoming more and more common... like divorce. The "What have you done for me lately?" attitude that this generation exhibits. It sucks. Or... Perhaps its just being reported more often now rather than happening more often? It would be interesting to get some real numbers available for doing comparisons between years / decades. If there actually is an appreciable increase in recent years part of it could be less of a "what have you done for me lately" attitude than an issue of increased parity in D1 volleyball and many more options for players rather than sitting on the bench for 4 years.

Is Hausfeld (spelling?) the kid who committed to OU and then went elsewhere when the 13th scholie fell through?
Maybe she's headed to Ohio after all?

All the kids leaving Kentucky are leaving because they can't or won't make positive contributions to the program. These moves are all for the good of the kids and the program. UK is not the new Ohio State.

That's fine. But not what I was asking (nor was I implying anything negative about these transfers either. I know nothing about Kentucky's program.).
