Yeh, I don't understand these Canadians. You would think that Ontario families would like Ann Arbor's proximity or even the big city alure of Chicago, but no, they end up in places like Lincoln and Columbus. It must be brain permafrost. If the only criteria for deciding which school to go to was proximity then maybe Ontarians would go to the University of Toronto or McMaster in Hamilton. Again a rediculous post with little or no insight or substance, merely words. Are you suggesting the Canadians would wish to play for the Rosens in a "weaker program in Michigan than OSU or Nebraska" or go to Northwestern which, at times, is even weaker--though they do have a pretty building.

Remember the complementary line from the animal keeper in Jurassic Park just before the Raptor devoured him ?

if only we had a matching system, we wouldnt have to worry about this good point... Finally, I don't presume that everyone is interested or eligible for academically selective schools, but it is a shame when very bright student-athletes weigh their college choices 90 percent volleyball and 10 percent academics, and this approach is often driven by enthusiastic coaches from non academically selective schools who typically are more interested in the physical rather than intellectual development of the recruit. I'm sure this is true to some degree. But a very big chunk of it is determined by the fact that most people who reach that level of play are EXTREMELY competitive, and that competitive people like winning...

Chance says "there is probably no serious difference between Tennessee, or Minnessota, or Tosu, or Florida, or USC, or wherever". You are so correct, but there is a difference between these schools and academically selective schools like Virginia and Duke in the ACC, Michigan and Northwestern in the Big 10, Stanford in the PAC 10 and all the Ivy schools. I can assure you that Wall Street, graduate schools, and other highly selective career options view a degree from the schools I mentioned differently than the schools you mention. Of course, if you're a Tom or a Walsh, it makes little difference where you graduated up until the point when you look for a real job. Are you saying Tom and Walsh don't have real jobs? If you are making more money than they are than you are doing very well for yourself.

Prostitutes and porn actors make money. I am, of course, not equating beach volleyball players to prostitutes and porn actors.

As good as Becky is, she's nowhere in her sister's league nor is she the best 2008 coming out of Canada. She'd still be a good get in any program but she's not going to dominate like Sarah. Club teams were glad when Sarah graduated and moved on.

Older sister and Mother & Father developed a tight bond w/the coach at minnesota. It was a hard thing for Sarah to tell him she had picked Nebraska. I keep thinking minnesota is where Becky is going to land. absolutely nothing concrete I can back that with. just a gut feeling.

Volleyball Prospects lists Top 25 Canadians by graduating class, based on the input of coaches/scouts. The order is alphabetical, so there is no top ten ranking. There is a strong bias to Western Canada, as the service was initiated in Calgary, Alberta, but a lot of the top girls are listed, like Becky Pavan and Tabitha Love. www.volleyballprospects.ca/content/view/104/54/
