They're not getting excited too early. Considering that excitement is essential to the program's postseason success, they need to start as soon as possible. The last few years the Wahine have been the bumblebees of volleyball -- just to look at their physical attributes, you wouldn't think they'd be capable of reaching such great heights. But fortunately for them, the last few years the Wahine have also been The Little Engine That Could -- their fans, coaches, and inferior WAC opponents convince them that they actually have a chance at beating whichever PAC10 team they'll face in a Regional this year. All this ridiculous hype over their average recruits is the Hawai'ian equivalent of "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...." I respect your opinion, but the recruits Hawaii have committed to play for the program this and next season are really good. They can compete with anybody in the country including any PAC-10 team. They have beaten PAC-10 teams last season, one of them USC who was a Final Four contender. Hawaii should be the last of your worries, if that is what's bothering you. With Sarah Pavan, Christina Houghtailing, and Jordan Larson. I don't think anybody in the country has a chance beating Nebraska not even Stanford or any other team from the PAC-10. As to your first paragraph, please name which of the Wahine in 2004-2006 who are equivalent to Kim Willoughby, Angelica Ljungquist, Tee Williams. As to the second paragraph, I'm not "worried" or "bothered" by anything. Hawai'i has always proven the naysayers wrong in the postseason, which is why their coach is mentioned so often in the "top coaches" thread.

In my first paragraph, I was refering to players like Herring and Ferrell, who have already committed to play for Hawaii. So, what are talking about? Either you don't know crap about what are you talking about, or you're going senile.
And yes, Hawaii has always proven skeptics like you wrong in the postseason.
First you bash the Wahine and then you come back with a kissbutt remark like it's going to make it okay, please save it!

In my first paragraph, I was refering to players like Herring and Ferrell, who have already committed to play for Hawaii. So, what are talking about? Either you don't know crap about what are you talking about, or you're going senile. I clearly gave the range of "the last few years" and "2004-2006", so whatever assertion you're disagreeing with isn't one that I made. But to go ahead and allow the terms to be shifted to the ones you suggest, it seems you are saying that Herring and Ferrell are as good as Willoughby and Ljungquist. I don't think that equivalence can be made at this point. Obviously we also can't say that those two players will never develop along the same lines. Going solely on the information we have right now, both of them look to be very good recruits for Hawai'i regardless of whether they ever reach the POY level of previous team members. Save it? Really? You're asking me to withhold any positive comments and only share the criticisms? If you examine your motives, perhaps you'll discover why you need to stereotype me as consistently critical. Your neurosis compels you to interpret almost all remarks as attacks, so that you can struggle valiantly and self-righteously against someone you've labelled an oppressor or enemy. For certain personality types, reality is less attractive than getting to feel like you are uniquely wise in purchasing an unknown Pearl of Great Price that someday will be revealed as an unmatched jewel. It's easy to become addicted to the emotional rush of vindication, but I hope you'll pardon me while I excuse myself from your delusional oscillations.

You're not getting the point my man! vbuzz never said that Ferrell and Herring will be as good as Kim, Angelica, or Teee for that matter, but then we will never know until they actually start playing volleyball. Your comparisons of Wahine Greats with players that are yet to step on the SSC floor is immature and unfair.
Herring is the probably the best overall player in the country besides Klineman, her backrow skills is just as amazing as her hitting. It is why many have compared her to the great Kim Willoughby and Teee Williams. Her vertical is amazing. She will be in the top 5 next year as far as recruits go. So, If Hawaii fans get excited too early...well, it's because they have a right to.
