(snip) Yes....so true...with only 2 All Americans in Larson and Holloway and Cooper as middle blocker I don't know what we are going to do. Our life is over. Yup, in 2008 life as a NU fan will be over. I'm thinking I'll start rooting for Hawaii or some yet-to-be-named-for-a-future-draft pick Pac-10 team.

My season seats for Wahine matches are $19.00 a ticket. Hawai'i has the priciest volleyball tickets in the country, WOW, when you compare QualityVolleyball/DollarSpent, you guys are really getting screwed ;D Not at all. Even at $19 a ticket, Wahine volleyball is THE best value for volleyball in the country. The experience of watching Wahine volleyball at the SSC is unequaled. I'd pay 25 dollars a ticket if that were the price.

Same Q can be asked of any straight housewife. Didn't they make a movie about that staring Richard Gere and Demi Moore in Las Vegas???

Sell-outs at the SSC? Here are the last 5 for women's volleyball:
11/15/03: Hawaii vs. San Jose State (final regular season match) 11/10/02: Hawaii vs. Stanford (final regular season match) 10/24/99: Hawaii vs. Stanford 12/13/96: Hawaii vs. BYU (NCAA Mountain Regional Final) 11/02/96: Hawaii vs. Stanford
In contrast, the SSC sold out five times in 1995 (vs. Long Beach State twice, Louisville, Arizona State, and Michigan State) and twice in 1994 (once when the SSC first opened vs. San Jose State, and again against UC Santa Barbara on the second night of a double-header between the two teams).

Yup. Sell-outs are difficult for Hawaii, regardless of the "marquee" match-ups.

Yup. Sell-outs are difficult for Hawaii, regardless of the "marquee" match-ups. That's why Hawaii has long ago lost the title of the premiere volleyball team in the country.

At 19 bucks a ticket, I might skip one or two of the WAC matches if I were in Hawaii and use the savings to go watch Brennan throw for 528 yards and six touchdowns against someone. I know that his numbers have a little to do with the system (Chang was good too in it), but you still have to be good to put up those kinds of numbers, no matter what. It is amazing how much less of an offensive genius Joe Tiller has been since Drew Brees left.

Hawaii might not be "premiere" anymore.....but we still have that Aura that is Hawaii Volleyball!!! And we never dropped off the face of the VB map while others did. *cough cough LBSU cough cough Pacific.

I'd be willing to bet that he'd be successful outside of June's system as well. By the way, I can always watch both sports.

So will the rest of you when buying your 2008 Husker VB season tickets. Enjoy the 2007 season. Yes....so true...with only 2 All Americans in Larson and Holloway and Cooper as middle blocker I don't know what we are going to do. Our life is over. They'll be nowhere near the team they are today, and you won't be able to shoot off your arrogance every which way. And you're right, your life as you know it will be over. They'll be middle of the pack next year, crushed by the rest of the top 10 this year. You should root for the Pac 10 or Hawaii, because they will be the better team!

While I don't believe Nebraska will fall off of the Volleyball map next season. I think it's an accurate statement to say next year's version of the Nebraska Cornhuskers are not going to be as good as this year's version. It's also an accurate statement to say that next year's Nebraska team will not be as talented as the teams they put on the court in the last couple of years.
It will be interesting to see if Larson can carry the team without Pavan, Houghtelling, and Stalls on the floor. If I were a betting man, I'd bet against Nebraska next season.

Agree with you BiK. The Huskers won't be a virtual unanimous #1 like this year, but they will still be a top-10 team, hopefully even top-5, with another trip to the Final Four (that's right NCAA...I said FINAL FOUR!) in the cards with a couple breaks.
