Nebraska will definitely have the talent to make a run at the Final Four in 08, but I would think the 2 with the best chances as of right now would have to be Stanford and Minnesota.

(snip)It will be interesting to see if Larson can carry the team without Pavan, Houghtelling, and Stalls on the floor. If I were a betting man, I'd bet against Nebraska next season. IMO, Stalls will be the easiest to replace in 08 (Cooper to MB1, Gates or Delano to MB2). Licht is supposed to replace Pavan and has shown some real potential in her few minutes of PT -- and also some Freshman mess ups, too. Lindsey certainly has the physique to step in for SP, but not the polish (yet). Who will replace CHotel? That's the big question. Tara Mueller has looked good so far in limited PT, but she's not and never will be the physical presence of Christina. Maybe Cook has a recruit lined up. NU will be a top-5 team next year, without a doubt.

I say top 5 next year will be Stanford, Penn State, Texas, Minnesota, and USC or Washington. Nebraska will be top 10 for sure, but again, middle of the pack.
Stalls is not easy to replace, not to mention two POY. You'll feel it next year.

Yes....so true...with only 2 All Americans in Larson and Holloway and Cooper as middle blocker I don't know what we are going to do. Our life is over. They'll be nowhere near the team they are today, and you won't be able to shoot off your arrogance every which way. And you're right, your life as you know it will be over. They'll be middle of the pack next year, crushed by the rest of the top 10 this year. You should root for the Pac 10 or Hawaii, because they will be the better team! You betcha....so wise. ........I have been a part of this board for the last several years. I remember after being beat by Washington the arrogance and obnoxius-ness of many on this board. So...suck it up buddy !

Please...just because Nebraska won a championship doesn't mean we're all gonna' roll when you come on-line with your put downs. I'm sure you were right there defending your team when people were putting down the Huskers after '05, so don't expect the red carpet when you guys are shooting off like that. We're going to shoot right back so suck that up buddy!

It really wouldn't be a big thing, would it? On the other hand, there's always that possibility that nebraska going to get beat. This is why hawaii is in a comfortable situation in that game. Abd I think this is why that game will be a sell out, 13,000 + will be in attendance. They see it as a good game, at least they are attracted to the Wahine.

Texas is always in most posters top 5 list, even top 4. But frankly, they have never proven themselves. No final fours of recent but they're always mentioned in the highest echelon. The same goes for Penn State. Sure both Texas and Penn State have the recruits but they haven't gotten farther then UH in the postseason. Yet, UH of recent is rarely mentioned in the same breath as Penn State or Texas.

well whatever with all the comments ... i still think Hawaii's going to get smacked in Omaha. Very insightful. Couldn't that be the case with any team this year, with the exception of Stanford?
