again....Metcalf...the leading international scorer of the team in the last few years left out of most of this pro pac conversation. How predictable. I agree with you that Metcalf needs to be on the floor playing Opp. Tom and Haneef on the left, with Glass as the back-up. From the looks of it, Lang Ping is keeping Haneef-Park at Opposite (atleast for NORCECA). As for Metcalf, she and her spanish club had a very good result last season. Does anyone know how long she has been back with the team? For now, Cassie Busse is back up Opposite.

Metcalf is not with the USA national team. She certainly won't be going to NORCECA, and It seems unlikely that she'll go to Japan.
She has also split her Spanish team and will return to Eczacibasi, Istanbul this year.

What is going on with Metcalf? USA Volleyball released a statement not that long ago saying that both she and Berg were back training with the team. She is still on the training team as of the end of august: www.usavolleyball.org/National/07WNTRoster.aspbut, she is not on the NORCECA roster. Does any know if she is, or is not training with the team?

Wow....most of you are almost giddy. Umm. Yes, all our problems are solved overnight! Logan's back! After a year of dismal threads about how we weren't even a top 10 team, with one fell swoop 2008 Olympic gold will surely be ours! Why even go to Beijing, just have them Fed-Ex the medals to us!

Does any know if she is, or is not training with the team? Yes, I do know the answer to that question (it is in my previous post).

Not anymore. USA volleyball says she has passport problems, so Ohlovsky (sp?) is going instead. Sounds a little fishy to me, as she was going to Europe for beach volleyball, and Canada shouldn't have real passport issues. Looks like Haneef back to OH, along with Nnamani, and serve receive shall be an adventure.

So do I; haven't seen her or Glass play for years (inside) but sounds like a good combo for Olympic qualifying, with Nnamani for some instant offense.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 16, 2007) - The U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team has changed its previously announced 12-player for the NORCECA Continental Women's Volleyball Championship on the eve of the tournament played Sept. 17-22 at Winnipeg, Canada. Opposite Katie Olsovsky (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) has replaced outside hitter Logan Tom (Salt Lake City, Utah) on the roster due to unforeseen complications with Tom's passport and entry into Canada. Each player's passport must be provided for inspection at the tournament's preliminary inquiry meeting, and Tom would not have arrived in the country from a previous engagement in time to hand over the passport for the meeting. Tom began training with the U.S. Women's National Team on Sept. 10 after three years away from the program. NORCECA granted Team USA an exemption to add her to the preliminary 18-player NORCECA Championship roster in place of an injured Kim Glass (Lancaster, Pa.). However, an extension to the deadline for verification of her passport could not be granted to allow for her arrival after the general technical meeting. For the complete story, go to www.usavolleyball.org/VolleyballNews/news.asp?id=1906.

Murina,
Ok.... so it looks like metcalf agreed to go back... or maybe did for a short time. (Otherwise... why would usa volleyball send out a press release). They still haven't taken her off the training team roster.
Do you have any clue why she changed her mind? And so quickly?

2 USC ladies on the roster......just think if Ross had decided to play....it would be 3 players from the 2002-2003 championship teams of USC
