I was looking at the DAYTON Roster and those girls are very big athletes. daytonflyers.cstv.com/sports/w-volley/mtt/dayt-w-volley-mtt.htmlI looks like this team is a formidable team on paper and with their weak conference can simply over power them. It really isnt there fault that they are in the Atlantic 10. So the real test is come NCAA tourney time. I was looking at there schedule and they can go undefeated. In any case that is good for them and they seem to be getting good talent from the local girls in OH and IL areas. So if this team makes its stamp this year it really could be the beginning of a good program that could snag some good midwestern recruits from the big schools like Minn, Ohio st, Penn St, etc...

I could see them hosting a "massive screw over" bracket in the NCAAs with Purdue, Ohio, and Kentucky. Cheap @$%^%^ NCAA.

I could see them hosting a "massive screw over" bracket in the NCAAs with Purdue, Ohio, and Kentucky. Cheap @$%^%^ NCAA. Why would this be a "screwover"? I thought Dayton was supposed to be good? Two unranked teams (including one they have already beaten) and another mid-major? What else could they expect in a bracket for the #16 seed? I think it is a reasonable bracket from the NCAA standards. Moreover, if they don't match Dayton with Purdue in round 1, they wouldn't be doing that rematch right away.

I guess many of us agree that they are a good team, ranked higher than they should, still beating the ones they should beat and may be hurt if they don't win thier tournament. Can't blame them for being part of a Conference that is not strong, but at the same time the coaching staff has worked hard to make them better and beat some Big Ten schools. ESTRELLA

Horsmon's name is really buzzing around the OSU campus as the top candidate.

Over Carlston?
Not that you see coaches move from OU to OSU very often. Athens to Columbus is like moving from paradise to ... well ... to Columbus.

Xavier would be a good win. I don't see it happening though. Xavier has won 7 straight ( I know UD has won 21). They have already beaten Cal Poly this year. A good 18-6 Xavier team can take care of business at home on Friday and shut up a lot of this silly talk. Hmm.. Good Call. Glad to see Dayton back down to earth. No one really thought they were top 15 material anyway. Well, except for Backwoods. Good win for Xavier, their second true quality win of the season. Now 19-6, making a solid push toward the latter part of the season.

Besides, OSU could never humble themselves to admit that anything good comes out of Athens. Besides, how would the Columbus Dispatch write it up? They love to bash the oldest public institution outside the original 13 colonies. They would probably talk about Carlston's Minnesota roots and never even mention that he coached at Ohio.

I don't want to be a jerk, but I am not sure that moving from Ohio to Ohio State would be a move up at this point. The Buckeyes are losing a lot of talent and have some serious flaws already. It looks like it will be a rebuilding job in Columbus.

any coach that come into a new program rebuilds it. a new coach will want to have the team that they want. Look at Indiana as there were some past starters not starting this year. And Athens being compared to paradise is pretty comical. I'd take columbus any day

Columbus? It'd be the armpit of Ohio if Ohio could have 6 armpits.

Bucky, your comment doesn't make you a jerk as much as it makes you crazy. Are you kidding me? Ohio St is a move up in any area you can think of. It may be a rebuilding job, but you can attract talent at a level that OU can't. With the talent that is in Ohio and that states passion for all things OSU, it is one of the best jobs in the country. Kids in Wisconsin really like UW Milwaukee, Whitewater etc.... but Wisconsin is THE University in Wisconsin. High profile school, big time athletics, big time budget, big time atmosphere. Carlson will jump so fast your head will spin off. If he doesn't than he isn't ambitious. The highest level OU gets to, should be the lowest OSU ever is.
