I'm not sure why everyone is getting so involved for this match. Hawaii is playing AT Nebraska... why people think the Wahine have a legit shot is beyond me. If Penn State, Texas, and UCLA couldn't make a dent in the Nebraska squad, what makes you think a team that lost at home to OSU can beat the giant?...3 game sweep by the cornhuskers, no competition. Sorry Hawaii fans, but it's reality Hawaii is out matched at every single position Hawai'i and Nebraska are the two biggest Volleyball programs in the Country. I don't care how many titles the PAC 10 has won. The fact of the matter is, no other programs in the Country are as visible as Hawai'i and Nebraska. You may not think Hawai'i has a shot but some of us do, and to Dave Shoji's credit, at least he has the balls to play top ranked competition, on the road no less. Oh and i think hawaii has a shot, just not a legit one...Every single Hawaii player needs to give it their all, and a couple of the Nebraska players need to be off for Hawaii to have a legit shot. But Hawaii has to play a near flawless match...if Houston goes away for a couple of points, consider the game lost...if Pavan explodes, consider that game in the bag for NU...if NU is passing well, consider it a sweep...

Nebraska's website isn't letting me register for the audio... It is super-super quirky. I had to go back and re-select the free audio to get it.

Anything is possible, but Nebraska is better in every position, and in most cases by a lot.

AND if tht last little jab is pointed at Washington, UW DOES play top ranked competition on the road. @ Stanford, @usc, BeiBei, @cal....OH and all those matches in regional finals, final fours, and title matches....MUCH tougher than Hawaii if you ask me if that jab wasn't pointed at Washington, then forget about what I just said

It doesn't matter if your schedule is by choice or not. They have an incredibly tough schedule. Yes, there pre-conference schedule is outright embarrassing, but at the end of the day, they have a brutal schedule.

It does matter, and I think even if you added in their conference schedule, Washington's schedule is anything but brutal.

You may not think Hawai'i has a shot but some of us do, and to Dave Shoji's credit, at least he has the balls to play top ranked competition, on the road no less. I agree that Hawaii and Nebraska are the "biggest" volleyball programs...but biggest doesn't always equal the best. Nebraska has kept up it's end in recent years by packing the gym AND consistently challenging for national titles. Hawaii, on the other hand, has no excuse. Excuse for what? What Shoji has done with his program is phenomenal. Look at the type of players that Hawai'i has been able to recruit in relation to the other top programs and look at the progress these young women have made at Hawai'i.. Hawai'i is no less successful than the majority of teams who have recruited more high profile prep players. Hawai'i still leads the nation in attendance (going on 13 seasons). Hawai'i has made the regionals 9 straight seasons. There is no need for an "excuse". If they spent half as much time recruiting and training top notch players as they did hyping their program to keep a great fan base, perhaps they would be in the nations current elite programs. Hawai'i works very hard at recruiting but Hawaii's location (among other considerations) put Shoji and Company at a disadvantage against some of the other top schools. Hawai'i doesn't need to hype its program. The Wahine program is among the most successful women's collegiate Volleyball programs in the Country. Hawaii's fan base will always be here, supporting the Wahine, that fact won't change. And just as an aside...Hawai'i IS a current elite program. Your thinking otherwise does NOT change that fact. Hawaii has a rich history, no doubt, but the Wahine need to get back to their national championship glory and no amount of screaming islander fans is going to do that anytime soon... Hawai'i has no more to prove than any other top ranked program out there.

Ay, So which teams would you consider today's current elite, specifically your top 10?

Idaho, they probably wind up playing 10 matches vs the top 25, and 6 vs the top ten. Unless your idea of a brutal schedule, is China, Brazil, Jesus, Zeus and Hawaii, that schedule is brutal.

Ok, I finally figured out the audio thing, didn't realize I had to purchase the audio package for $.00. What the hell is the point of that?
P.S. ay, quit bringing Washington into every thread, all you are doing is making people not like UW. There's enough haters as there is. Just chill out, UW will get talked about when they play a match, no need to hijack other match threads.

It sure was easier on this board when Washington still sucked. Now we get Washington hijackings of Hawaii threads. Someone, please, tell me what this is all about.

How is Washington's schedule anymore brutal than any other PAC 10 team? and they didn't fatten up their win column playing a bunch of cream puffs.
