I'm not sure why everyone is getting so involved for this match. Hawaii is playing AT Nebraska... why people think the Wahine have a legit shot is beyond me. If Penn State, Texas, and UCLA couldn't make a dent in the Nebraska squad, what makes you think a team that lost at home to OSU can beat the giant?...3 game sweep by the cornhuskers, no competition. Sorry Hawaii fans, but it's reality Hawaii is out matched at every single position You are misinformed. Redirect what you said to the record-breaking crowd. We are consistent in our behavior. it's the same if hawaii were playing against any other team.

Ay, So which teams would you consider today's current elite, specifically your top 10? There aren't 10. I'm not saying Hawaii isn't a great team, because they are..but recently they haven't challenged for the national title, they just kinda get stuck in the regionals. If you look at the big picture (all the teams), yes Hawaii is definetly in the upper most bracket...but my personal definition of the current elite are the teams that challenge for a national title year in and year out for multiple seasons..Nebraska, Stanford, UW, USC, Penn State etc. Lets not forget about LBSU hehehehe ;D ;D ;D I agree with you for the most part. But UW? They've only been around for a short period of time....a few years? Still they're good but to be part of that nation's elite they need to be a top contender like Standford who is always a contender since the early 90's and same with Nebraska. Even USC just got good in the last millenium. Penn State has been around since the late 90's with the great Zemaitis, Bremner and Cacchiamani... I enjoy teams like Hawaii becuase for the 99% of it's 33 year existence, Hawaii has always been in the top 25...that to me is tradition and eliteness. I can't quite remember the other teams that have been in the top 25 all of their years but same goes for those teams.

Legendary Coach Dave Shoji (942-166-1 in 33 years) brings his Rainbow Wahine into town riding a 13-match win streak. Hawai’i, which started the year 1-2, has won 15 of its last 16 matches, with the only setback coming at the hands of UCLA on Sept. 3. Hawaii’s offense features one of the nation’s top players in All-American outside hitter Jamie Houston, who is sixth in the country, averaging 5.28 kills per game. Aneli Cubi-Otineru joins Houston in giving Hawai’i two offensive threats, as she averagesd 3.64 kills and 2.57 digs per game. NU leads Hawai’i, 6-4, in a series that dates back to 1981. Of the last five meetings between the two teams, three have taken place at the AVCA Showcase (1996-01-05) while the other two have been in NCAA Tournament play, including the 2000 national semifinals and the 2002 Lincoln Regional finals. www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=11&SPID=23&DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=1284097&KEY=&DB_OEM_ID=100&DB_LANG=&IN_SUBSCRIBER_CONTENT=

I'm definitely for the underdog here. How can you not. Hawaii had a difficult first match, but has improved. It would be great for them to play their best game today. To challenge Nebraska. To extend them and have them work hard. It should be an exciting match. Come on Hawaii, play hard, dig and block. Go get them.
