First Post, Yay.
I'd say third is as much Purdue's as it is Northwestern's. The race for third may be the most exciting to watch this year.

Wisconsin can for the most part "clinch" second place this weekend if they can win over Purdue. I don't see any way, aside from an unprecedented implosion of Wisconsin, that any other team could get 2nd after a sweep at IU/PU this weekend.
However, if the Boilers can pull off the upset in West Lafayette this weekend, they would put themselves in position to maybe, just maybe, be the benefactors of some 2nd half Badger misfortune.
I think Purdue will finish 3rd, especially after weathering the storm that was the first half of this big ten season. With injuries, musical setters/liberos, line-up changes, and inconsistant play, I am suprised that Purdue is even in a position to place as high as 3rd in the league.

To get close enough to the Badgers, Purdue would also have to beat PSU, because they've spotted the Badgers a big lead by racking up too many losses already....ain't going to happen. Neither will a Badger's collapse.

I am predicting a 3 way tie for third. I think UW is as secure at 2 as PSU is at 1. Dunbar COY, Harmotto POY, FOY Zimmerman.

Neither will a Badger's collapse. The problem with Purdue catching Wisconsin is that, even IF Purdue beats Bucky this weekend, and IF Purdue can go through the second half of the season undefeated (yes, even beating Penn St on the road) then somewhere, somehow the Badgers have to lose two more. Penn St is one, but a second? Granted, a second Badger loss is probably more likely than a Purdue win over Penn St, but still, both are fairly unlikely. And if Purdue loses to Penn St, then Wisc is going to have to lose twice to someone not named Penn St? Man, that is hoping for an awful lot.

So, what about tournament predictions? Who makes it to the dance?

So, what about tournament predictions? Who makes it to the dance? I think the only four that are locks right now are Wisconsin, PSU, Purdue and Michigan. I used to think Minnesota, but after that loss to MSU for their fifth in a row, I don't know. They're looking at 6 losses in a row by Friday, when they play PSU (though I hope they stop their skid there). There's a lot to be decided for the rest before the invites to the dance go out.

Big Ten only has 5 locks in the tournament at this point. PSU, UW, UMN, UM, Purdue.

IU's home game advantage will keep them from dropping....GO HOOSIERS!

I also think there will be a tie for 3rd and maybe some for 4th. I think its really exciting seeing the teams pick up their game. Purdue has come up very quietly and its at a good time. I agree with the locks for the dance. I see PSU, Wisc, Purdue, Mich, and Minn. While it is a little early to tell its interesting to try and guess. Wisc and PSU has showed weaknesses and had them exploited by other teams so I wouldn't be surprised by an upset with one of them involved.
