I'm glad Texas moved up. They do look better than UCLA and USC. Florida has no case for being higher than #10 thus far.

(snip) Dayton only dropped 5-places. Sick. Minnesota dropped 9 by losing to two NCAA-tournament teams. Oklahoma got no love for their win over KSU. Do the coaches do any homework on this? Michigan State (4-6 B10) and Northwestern (3-7 B10) NCAA Tournament teams? Very potentially.

I have seen them play and think Wisconsin is better than UCLA and USC as well. More balanced and physical than UCLA, and USC and Wisconsin do the same things, and Wisconsin does them better.

Wow, that mighty Big Ten. Their third place team with a monstrous eight votes. Impressive.

Do the coaches do any homework on this? I hope this was a rhetorical question!!

UW, who lost to Cal, who lost to Colorado, who lost to Furman, who lost to UNC Greensboro, who lost to Bucknell, who lost to Air Force, who lost to Chicago State who at 4-19, lost to jsut about everybody.

But you could take it further as PSU who lost to Stanford who lost to UW who lost to Cal, etc. I think any team that beats Stanford on their home floor is more than worthy of being #2.

Wow, IdahoDaddy, Wisconsin plays your # 2 Penn State as close as anyone could possibly play them, and you put them at #9?! That doesn't make too much sense. And 5, I repeat, 5 Pac-10 teams above Wisconsin??? Someone's been drinking a little too much of the Pac-10 cool-aid.
As for Northwestern, there is no way they will make the NCAA Tournament. MSU has a chance, just barely a chance if they can right the ship and use their offensive arsenal effectively. I for, one, certainly hope they can. But that would mean winning 5 of their last 10, including at least one win over Michigan, Purdue, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and PSU. And that's IF they can go 5-0 against the rest of the conference.

Wow, that mighty Big Ten. Their third place team with a monstrous eight votes. Impressive. I'm hoping that was sarcasm. We can view that as one of numerous examples of how virtually insane this poll truly is. And how much it truly doesn't matter.

It is in reference to Duke beating that #3 Big Ten team. That was 6-7 weeks ago. Duke is playing really bad volleyball right now. Purdue is playing pretty darn well.

UW has a loss to team lower than those who beat PSU and Stanford. UW will have their shot at #2, and possibly #1. Had they had any wins vs anyone pre-conference, they would maybe be #2.
