Every team puts the best players they have on the court, injuries are part of it. Part of the poll is potential and knowing what the team is capable of, I'm sorry, but it's true. UCLA is more than capable of being in the Final Four with a soon-to-be-if-not-already-healthy Spicer. Having barely, barely, barely lost that match, I think they were overly punished. They were punished less than Florida was for losing on the road in a match they outscored the opponent 137-115. Is Oregon State better than Arkansas? I think so, but road vs. home pretty much negates that. If you want use Spicer's injury as an excuse, then Florida should be allowed to use the excuse that a girl who was very close friends with many of the players on the team, in addition to one of the football players, was killed the night before the match and it weighed on the team heavily.

I watched that match online. It was in 5-games. UCLA owned the scoreboard and Spicer was limited with an injured hand. I think that its a forgiveable loss. If that's forgiveable, why isn't Stanford's loss to UW forgiveable? Some posters are handing UW #2, ignoring their non-conference record against the proverbial Little Sisters of the Poor. One at a time, folks, one at a time. I think that Stanford's loss to UW is no big deal. Stanford always peaks when they need to. As far as Florida goes: I took that tragic loss into account and don't feel I overly punished them. The AVCA, on the other hand... well, that's what we're talking about isn't it? They're just plain wrong.

Wow, that mighty Big Ten. Their third place team with a monstrous eight votes. Impressive. I'm sorry; when it comes to volleyball, no one from the ACC can talk smack about ANY other major conference. Ever.

Arkansas deserved to win that match because they did what it took to win.

You line up and you play as scheduled, when scheduled and where scheduled...that's it.

Don't argue with IB. He is in love with UCLA. He'd never cut the same slack for another team -- say Wisconsin @ BYU. At least Oregon State has some nice wins with their bad losses... Wisconsin is BYU's only good win. Besides, who wasn't playing for Wisconsin against BYU? Besides Wisconsin was outscored: 127 to 113. It wasn't in Madison AND it was a looooooooong time ago.

Go Western Athletic Conference!!!!!!!!! This is wonderful! We gotta get some of our other teams up on this poll. Probably Idaho, San Jose State or Nevada - Consistently. Oh well, I'll be at the Stan Sheriff Center this weekend Observing the two WAC powerhouse teams demolish each other. But, you know I have to back my girls up when it comes down to it. Go BOWS!!!

Wow NMSU at #13?!?!?? San Diego at #12?!!!? What a kooky season huh? Anyway should make things a little more interesting come Friday. Talk about a WAC showdown. Once a cliche, it finally adds a sinch(sp?) of validation to that term. Would have been interesting if Hawaii did drop in the polls to #12. .
