Brah, eastside grill is long gone... it's now a day-care center for the kiddies. TJ's (@kapiolani & king) will probably show it. They got cheap drinks and foods not bad. sorry my bad...haven't been on o'ahu for year and a half didn't even know it closed...that's where we use to go to watch games that we couldn't watch at the dorms Well, at least you didn't call it Moose McGillycuddies.

so.... here's the question now? Who do we want hawaii to play??? Michigan or Stanford??? I'd pick Michigan, since the last time Hawaii played them, Michigan beat Hawaii in Hawaii. Are you thinking of Michigan State in 1995? Just wanted to bring that team up... my favorite Hawaii team ever.

I think it is a moot point now. Looks like Hawaii will be playing Michigan up 22-10 in fourth set. Pac 10 will have only one left of 8 in tournment in a couple of minutes. After tomorrow hopefully they will have none after first regional final.

No, the one that came down a few years ago, I am thinking 2 years ago, when Michigan came to play in one of the tournaments in Hawaii.

I think I've blocked out the matches of the last five years, minus the times Hawaii has beat Pac-10 schools. Same with the Cal match ealier this year... never happened.

We were much higher regarded than this years Stanford.

That's exactly why it could be a strategic move for THIS match. Setting the pins was getting it done. Illinois' big middle leads the country in blocks. Amber is not a good blocking middle. He likely traded middle offense for good middle defense, knowing the outsides for UH were dominating. I agree with you, tomorrow is a whole new match. I expect to see Kaufmann. UNLESS, she really is injured. I believe this was a strategic move on Dave's part. He rested Kaufmann, got good defense in the middle at the net, and got all the offense he needed. dd2000, I really like your posts, but on this one I think you are wrong. Both Honolulu papers are reporting Amber reinjured her abdominal in the first set ... I hope she is healthy for tomorrow ... Go Bows! That sucks. I had an ab strain once. No matter how much I tried to take it easy, it NEVER healed as long as volleyball was still going on. It got to where I could only do one or two jumpserves at a time, then had to switch to a standing floater; and much less attacking power due to less torque. It took about 6-8 weeks after the end of that season - and no practicing, only training - to completely disappear. I hope Amber can come back more quickly!

Yes ab strains are a pretty bad injury...no one realizes how much you use your abs until you actually strain it

She might be done.
